Anyone else experience this?

Initially in the morning, my car will start right up - no problems.

If I stop in at the store for 5 minutes, and come back out to my car, it takes much much longer to start. I'd say an extra 3-4 rurnovers, then it kinda catches and starts.

I rememebr reading somewhere that this was a fuel pump issue? I can 't find it.

When I went to PAA and told them about this, he said to wait until after the winter to see if it still happens, he said sometimes the winter gas would cause this to happen.

It gets so bad sometimes, that if I try to remote start my car after it is warm, the car wont start

It happens to me too.

I was told winter gas was the culprit.

 

I've had it happen too... but the winter gas is BS because I got my car last July and noticed it as soon as August. It's just like Will said... driving the car for a bit then turning it off... then back on 1-2 minutes later.

 

I had something like that happen to me here in FL in the summer I think, mentioned it to the dealer, I forget if anything came of it though

Why is it taking extra cranks to start the engine?

Any of the following:
- Service Bulletin B01-001 addresses intermitent hard start after hot soak. The cure for that is to replace the fuel pressure regulator.

-The cold start, long crank is an issue seen most in fall and spring.
When the gas companies switch from winter to summer fuels, the change in fuel vapor pressure can cause weird starting problems. This is a generic problem with all cars.

-If the car sits overnight, the loss of fuel system pressure can affect starting.

-When you turn the key to an 'on' position (not necessarily the start position), the fuel pump activates and pressurizes the system.

People have reported success just leaving the key in the 'on' position for a second or two, (till the gas gauge rises) then starting the car. This is a generic problem with most fuel injected cars.
