is it hard to change springs?

is it hard to change springs?....i was thinking about doing it myself..it seems pretty straight foward...5 bolts on top of each spring..one at the bottom of the strut..take it out...compress it....i mean...am i missing something...im sure its alot harder then i think it is...or it wouldn't take so long....can someone explain to me the hard parts.....thanx

oh yeah...i dont have alot of experience with actually working on cars....we do alot of work in auto class in school..but i watch more then do (dont like to get dirty)...but ive changed the struts on my dads minvan before..but that was with airtools and a lift...and i had basically anytool i need avialable to me...if i did this now..it would be on jack stands...with a 151 peice mechanics tool set...probably a spring compressor ( or i would tka eit to school and use the hydralic one)...and thtas about it....what do you think?...oh and should i invest in a breaker bar?

oh...and when i tried to put the springs back on my dads struts....i could tighten the bolt that holds the springs to the strut caused the rod to spin so i couldnt tighten it...would i have this problem in my car?

I think most might suggest that if you've never done it before get someone who has or get it installed at a shop. My buddy is hopefully gonna do mine when and if I get springs but he's done some audi ones before. Plus I think that the CLS rears are tough to get at.

Suspension is a Bitch, but someone must do it. I do it to save money, but if I had the loot, I'd pay someone to do it.

I like doing my own work so I know it's done right. Not that there aren't good mehanics. There are. I just like knowing I did it myself. Springs are fairly straight forward. Just have to make sure all the parts go back on the same way they came off. There is a good spring installation FAQ on acura-tl.com.

ChadT is right though. The only way to make sure it is done right is if you do it yourself.

Not hard, just time consuming.
