The thing I don't understand about the Spoon T-Stat is if the T-Stat is 160 degrees but the Mugen fan switch is still 180. Therefore the fans will never run.

just because the tstat is full open at 160 doesnt mean the temps dont reach the 180

now that most of the rough stuff is gone im finding that the emory wheel is giving me the results i want but the shape of it could be better....more like a drum then a wheel would be good...also i wouldnt mind it being even smoother than the emory is getting it.any suggestions?

well ...after way too many hours...mostly because i dont have the right tools...i have the lower intake off the car...hope it goes back on easier...on the head side of the runners ,the match is terrible, 2 -3 mm in some spots...i belive there's going to be big gains from this...the good news is ill be dyno'ing the car shortly after this...the bad news is..ive added thermo block ,spoon 160* t stat and king throttle body together with this hand port and polish so...what ever gains we see on the dyno will need to be put into that perspective,...if it's 20 whp ill have to say 15 of it is the TB and U/L intake deal...hoping for even more...

if you say the P&P is not the greatest and expect those gains, will you expect more gains if it were done exactly how you wanted it??

hope it works for you!!

maybe i didnt word it right...im doing this now...the stock peices have a very bad match to the gaskets,(much smaller than the gasket)...when im done everything will be mirror like finish and gasket matched...

BTW this whole thing has been a learning curve and i have now found the bits that work best...aluminum oxide grinders for the removal of the rough castings,,,then coarse sand flapper wheel, fine sand flapper, medium buff, fine buff...this making short work of the lower intake runners...ill post pics soon...i expect to be done thursday

Thanks for the pic, I started doing my upper IM tonight and I'll finish it today sometime in the afternoon. Decided to do the top first because of the ease of removal and installation, and gasket reusal.

How much oil does everyone usually get in their IM? Im getting tired of the oil buildup in mine, any suggestions, catch tank for those lines, EGR bypass?

So far this sure beats paying $585 to extrude hone the IM and the 7-10 day turn around (if you drop it off), which for me is possible

I'll take some pics of three of the runners done compared to how the other three are.

As for cleaning, i'll just take the IM up to Signal Hill to a place to have it chemically cleaned to make sure none of that stuff gets in the engine
