Hamann Mini.........

Just make mine with the black roof and mirrors, 35% tint...cool setup. Anybody who puts this car in the same category as a fucking VW Beetle is an Ass.

I don't think so, Hamann is mostly cosmetic mods......but its rumored that a British firm (forgot the name) will be offering a power upgrade through the dealer sometime in 2003- intake/exhaust/chip bumping HP to 200.

I LOVE the MINI... especially this one...

BUT... the car is in the same category as the Beetle not because of what it is, but because of how it is to be used.

I already see several minis a day with corporate advertisements slathered all over them.

Its a rolling billboard just like a beetle.

I already see four times the amount of minis on the road a day as I do my car, granted most of them arent S's... but that just takes some of the coolness out of it.

Call me an ass.

If you spend more then $100 for that sardine can sized death trap, then you've spent too much (and I bet even discounted these run more then $100).

Your not an ass....you just have absolutely no idea what your talking about. The Mini happens to have excellent crash test ratings, I believe its the same as the BMW 3 series.

Well, I guess since the Mini is a sardine can sized death trap........you probably have no desire to own a Ferrari, Lotus, Viper, etc.

I actually wish I was like you, would save myself a nice chunk of change.

Actually, I am an ass! :P

My apologies about the crash ratings.

My problem is that I cannot see the current Mini as something different from the hunk of junk from the 60's/70's. I've travelled extensivly througout the UK and the Mini was the most common broken-down-at-the-side-of-the-road car I saw over the last 20+ years. I know that it is different, and that it is made by BMW, but my brain won't let me go there.

It looks like a toy.

Actually I don't like BMW's either, so I am being consistent.
