H&R OE sport spring Q

For those who know:

I ordered H&R OE's from Tim, and hope to get them this week. One thing that's bugg'n the hell outta me.

Why are they listed on Tim's site as 1.0 F / 1.25 R? These are the same springs used for Accord V6 coupe / sedan, and are listed as the normal OE drop of .75 F / .5 R. They're also the same part number as the TL's OE's, also listed as .75 F / .5R. These values are taken straight from www.hrsprings.com

The part # is 51858-55

So what's the deal. Can someone please tell me why on a CLS/CLP you'd get more drop in the rear than the front, when the springs are manufactured just the opposite?

I'm not bashing, bitching, just curious. Anyone who's done these springs, and taken before / after measurements please leave me a post.

Thanks - Jim

It must have something to do with our suspension set up. I have the Neuspeed springs and it's the same for me! They have more of a drop on my car than on the Accord.

First of all our cars are heavier than the accords, also I've seen AgeanCL-S and another cl-s in person w/ the H&R and didn't like the fact that the rear hangs lower than the front. If you look from far away it looks like its more of an even drop vs. the comptechs but for me I'll stick w/ comptechs even tho they are a bit more expensive than the H&R's. I've also seen the H&R on the TL but the TL doesn't sag in the rear as much.

Agree with Chris, that looks more like a sport drop.

I also know that our cars are heavier, but why is there a diff. if these springs carry the same part number (from H&R's site) for the TL/CL???? The TL get's .75 / .5

As a matter of fact, Accord V6 coupe, sedan, and TL are all listed as .75 / .5 The CL is not listed but should be the same.

This makes no sense to me at all.

here's why it makes sense...one i have the springs,i know the rear is about 1.4 ,i mounted mine so that the end of the spring is 180* away from the perch position(thats how i achieved 1.25 rear)...and last i think ...H&R used a 99 saber or inspire...which may have had the old 98 tl suspension????this i dont know for sure...all i know is when i asked why would the drop be so different?and the springs say 7-98 on them...they said they do R&D extemsive;y in japan...honestly I think thta they did it on a 98 inspire and assumed 99 tl was the same...sounds funny that a cmopany like this would make stupid assumptions..yes ..i agree...but call them today and you'll see they're not even aware that in '01 the cl now shares the same platform as 99tl/98 accord....

now last i think any of you that want to should look into this comp/h&r o.e. combos....one person gets 1.0/1.0 the other get 1.5/1.4

TypeR -

Sorry dude, muchas grats. I just got an email from ACP stating they're out of OE's till the end of the week. Bummer. Oh well, my Comptech sways should be here sometime this week, giving me a Saturday project!

Thanks for your insight. BTW - how's the ride with OE's? I'd imagine about the same as my Accord SE sedan was (I did OE's on that car as well.) IMO, It rode better than the stock setup.

Watch out, people will start PMing you telling you you're hating on them because they have H&R springs and a system in their trunk (talking about Marc S)
