GTP vs. CL-S

i was just wondering if anyone here has taken a stock or modified 97-2002 GTP....my buddy has one and its pretty darn fast (even stock)...i was actually considering buying one....until i drove the CL-S...im picking it up on thursday!! anyhow, he wants to meet up sometime for a race and i just want to make sure i dont embarrass myself with my new car...his GTP is a 99 and its bone stock accept for a CAI...no pulley or anything...

Hmmm with a cai it'll be close. Well, actually i'm not sure how much the cai adds to his engine. Stock v. Stock you might be able to edge it out but with a cai he might take you. It all depends on who get the better launch.

Just remember take VSA off and manual go through the shift gate
1>2>3 so you can redline 1st.

You spin the launch, you lose, he spins the launch, he loses. (See my sig below)

The CAI helps a lot in the GTP since it lets the S/C breath quite a bit better. Just watch out when he gets a smaller SC pulley, for the 80-100 it costs, the HP can go up around 25+.

It will be close, though the CAI will give him an advantage. Launch good and hope he doesn't know how to launch it well.

Tell him to check out www.clubgp.com if he hasn't already. I'm Vampyre on there as well. He should come on over and introduce himself. He could learn a heck of a lot on there. Let us know how it goes.

Hey Vampyre, i've seen you around plenty of times over there. I was gonna buy a GTP but settled for a TL instead. You have a great car there, and yes a measly 100 bucs and a smaller pulley later and you would be ripping apart stangs. those cars with worked tranny's and all the mods can be fast as hell.
