Greddy emanage blue?

Im going to use greddy emanage blue to tune my car when I install my turbo kit. Im only going to be running 6psi, I was reading about it on the rsx forums and they bash emanage and say its total crap and unreliable. Should I worrie? Also is there anything better to use to tune our cars with a turbo kit? I want to keep my motor reliable and safe.

Yea the emanage support kind of sucks. You can get the AEM FIC which is better for you since you will only needing to retard timing when you tune.

The K series engines have better tuning options out there for it, that's why they bash it. For us, not so much.

if my ECU is pulling timing because the motor is running rich can the emanage blue trick the ecu into thinking the A/F is fine so that it will not pull timing and I can then tune properly?

No it can't. I think you have to step up to Ultimate to change VTEC engagement.

damn and the Ultimate doesnt work for our cars as far the controling the timing. So basically there is no one piggy back stand alone that will work and do EVERYTHING for our cars: full fuel control, full timing control, vtec control. The AEM FIC does vtec and fuel but it cant ADVANCE timing and only retard it..

Maybe you can get a deal on it now with Greddy declaring bankruptcy.

This sucks, unless the combo provides rediculous gains it is not worth the hp per $ ratio. That is why the neo was a good buy. Is there any way for us to prevent the CPU from overriding the neo's setting?

Isn't emanage the same piggy back that everyone got a couple of years ago and it really didn't produce much gains for them? After that there was a mass sell-off of people who were tired of it.

I dont know anything about this but all i know is that I need to figure out between the emanage blue and fic, which one is going to give me the best tuning potential out of my car.

Even though I have an auto, I'll let you know of the gains I get, to help you decide

Lol did actually mean I saw one for a grand, was just making a estimate of what im not willing to pay.

Well I just went ahead and ordered my AEM FIC today. My mechanic spent a few hours this morning calling companys like AEM and greddy to get the true low down on their units as far as how compatible they are with my CL. It turns out that none of them are fully compatible as far as having full timing control. Like the emanage is suppose to be able to advance timing but due to something with the crank on my or our cars it cannot. It can only retard timing just like the FIC. Just about everyone running the emanage blue is boosted so they would never be trying to advance timing to notice that it may not work. So basically now with the emanage blue for our cars it cannot :advance timing, pull fuel or change vtec. Now as far as the FIC, it cant advance either but it has full fuel control and vtec control. Now the way I was told to get around the timing advancement is to manually advance the timing with something else and then use the FIC or Blue to pull the timing back down to whats needed. Doing this with the FIC will now allow you to fully tune your fuel, timing and vtec and best part is that th FIC still has the o2 screw so the learning ECU will never be a issue again and for people like me with the AEM UEGO wideband you can connect it to that for logging. Well thats what I learned today so once I get it and wired up with a boomslang extension harness I will start off with dyno tuning just the fuel then later test the timing once I get the proper timing advancing device.
