Great the new Alpine navi. software is available.

I just purchased and installed the Alpine DVD navi and while browsing through the alpine website ..I noticed that the new version 2.0 is now available which now comes with 2 dvd each with 8.5 gigs of info on them. Now there is one DVD for the east coast and one for the west coast...damn I can just imagine how much more inforamtion and Points of interest will be on the new software. Only problem is the software is $300 and Alpine updates their software anually.. WTF I thought this would be a one time expense but I quess not...luckily I dont have to change my system though...

Does anybody know if I can burn this DVD on one of mine I already have a DVD burner.????

I love the navi as is but having 8.5 gig just for the east coast means there is alot of information on those DVDs...thats pretty cool considering why have a DVD for the entire United states if I wont be traveling cross country anytime soon...but I do like the Points of interest that the Navi has its like having 83 Yellow pages in your car

Lou: I am glad you are getting a kick out of navi world. I love it too, and as I travel, I can really use it too.

Before getting into any "copying" questions here, I suggest you go read your software liscense agreement. It will probably be pretty direct and forward.

When you get the Acura navi insrtuction book, this info is on page 1, even before the table of contents. That should tell you something.

I hope you get my meaning. Someone, a few days ago suggesting copying also. You need to be careful here. Very.

dvd burners they sell outside could only burn 4.5 gigs. They do sell the 9 gig cds but the burners won't be able to turn on that size cd.
