Governed Top Speed??????
The mark is 150 and nobody even needs to touch their top gear.
I'd like to kow how many peeps have taken it there?
How many peeps haven't?

I had mine to 140 one time, figured I could live a few more years before killing myself.
Ram has said he feels there is no limiter by some of his runs he has done with the turbo, maybe something changed in 03?

I think My first week I had my car at like 135 or 145 But I don't think I'll do that again unless I'm on the straight away near my house or If I do attempt it I need to tighten my susp. and change my tires. God dam those tires suck

Once I lower it (and I've been saying that for quite a while now), I'll see how far I can push it while being reasonably safe. 120 is all I've hit so far and it really felt stable. I don't much care about top speed though, so oh well.

Indicated 154 and hit the fuel cutoff (147?) two times. If I had known about the "glass" transmissions then, I probably would not have done it. Imagin the rush of having a tranny lockup solid at 140+!

Ugh... yeah that isn't something I'd like to experience. That could easily cause the car to spin. 140+MPH + Guardrail =

Kinda funny the post was started about 2 yrs ago and no replies ... I made one reply and it's a good conversation...
Has anyone had a cl with the wing and then without of vise versa? I had a 2001 at then upgraded to a 2003 mt. The first one had a wing and seemed more stable at high speeds where as the new one without the wing doesn't seem stuck to the ground like the first .... All mods were the same on both cars. I know what they say, but there seriousely was a difference in stability.

From Allmotor's run with the 911 Carrera, I'm led to believe that there's no governor. HP, torque, and drag appear to be the limiting factors that have kept people at 150 and under.

I don't really understand pushing it to the absolute top end in this car. It gets MUCH slower in 4th gear, takes forever. Even with all the mods I have, 4th gear is still definitely a big change from 3rd. It still pulls, but it doesn't fly to redline like the other gears. I can't remember nor can I imagine what it was like when I was much closer to stock trim.

Plus it's fun to slam the fuel cutoff over and over and over again, helps keep you awake

Anyway, I wonder if the air patrol units can keep up at around 150MPH? (j/k)

i just wanted to hit the limiter once and did it
dont wanna take the risk again, 4th blows anyways
but if 4th wasnt soo tall i prolly would be getting into the 120+ range alot more

Here's an OLD picture of my baby:
Only a new ECU chip can remove the governor. Or a hard flash of the ECU itself.

Yeah frequent bouncing off the rev limiter at 140+ or any speed for that matter sounds like a great idea!
