Are you asking if the CL SS can be programmed so it doesn't automatically shift from 1st->2nd based on a software change?

yeah, in SS mode. In this TSX, its a white '05, you can shift first to second. I thought it was going to shift...when i noticed i was still in first i pulled on the gearshift and it went to second. You can also downshift from 2 to 1. I know the CL doesn't do it...oh well, it would probably make our trannies die even faster.

you can shift from 1-2 in the CL just not back down but if you punch it less than 30mph while in 2nd in SS it will down shift to first...it would be nice to beable to hold first for a milli second longer though

hey man thats odd i have a tsx loaner car too and i noticed the same thing.. and the shift is faster and more precise. its a pretty sweet car. its kinda zippy for a 4 banger automatic 4 door.

if this could be changed, someone would have to reprogram the entire ecu. if the new TL does it the same way as the TSX, you might be able to rip off that ecu. otherwise, it has to be reprogrammed and i dont think anyone can do that! it would cost enormous amounts of money anyways.
so basically you are stuck. stop being lazy and just gateshift if you need to hold 1st!
