Got a Ticket today - Excessive lane Changing
As you all know I just got my sways and headers to complete my mods for now. Well I've been weaving in and out of traffic and taking off the line several times to 'test' my cars limit. Well this morning I was driving to my my fathers neighbor hood and on the way I got a ticket.
Here's how it happened.
It was about 12:00 in the afternoon and I was driving towards springfield. For some reason I didn't put my music on today and I put on my seatbelt unlike usuall. Well I merge out of a high way and on to the main road. It first a 3 lane road and merges to a 2 lane road 45mph. I stay on my far right lane and cut off about 5 cars to get ahead to get in to the 2 lane road. I then throw it in SS and downshift and pass about 3 cars.
Blue lights and siren coming from behind.
Im like shit I just got a ticket like 2 months ago. First I thought the cop was going to pass me to go somewhere else so i quickly changed lanes to the left lane.
He follows. I then hit my brakes and he does the same. Fuck its for me. but the wierd thing was he was in a blue Impala w/ normal tags and his lights mounted in his rearview mirror.
As he approches the Type-S I saw him check out my car and smile.
"Do you always drive like that?"
"Uhh, I'm going home sir and was just in a rush"
"You know you cut off about 7 cars swearving in and out of traffic"
"Im sorry Sir."
"I'm not mad at you Im just concerned at the way your driving, do you always drive like this?"
"No sir, this is my first new car and I'm just very excited to drive it all the time"
"Hey what's that screen for?
"Oh, that's my navigation system" and of course I had to show him. Trying to talk my self out of the ticket. By the way he was the coolest undercover State trooper I've meet.
"That's pretty cool, I see you have 160 on the dash what kind of engine do you have under the hood?" this was all happening while I was pulled over on a 2 lane road slowing traffic.
"3.2 liter vtec 260 hp"
"Wow Acura makes that kind of engine!, what year is this?"
"2001" I was like YES i think he's gonna let me go.
"Oh by the way let me see your license" didn't even bother to ask for my registration.
He then takes my licence and looks up my record. Im like fuck he's gonna nail me now. I then see him pull out a map to see where my address was. It was like 5 min from my fathers house which my licence address is.
The cop then walks back w/ a summons while checking out my car again and says
"I'll cut you a deal instead of reckless and speeding I'll just give you a 60 dollar ticket, Excessive lane changing."
I didn't even no there was such a law but I said Okay sir.
He then asked if I was wearing my contacts today.
I was like "Excuse me? "
"oh it said on your record that you wear glasses"
I then pulled my eyelid up and showed him my contacts and laughed.
"I was like okay I'll just pay the fine so you don't have to come to court"
and then I took off.
Moral of the story?
Cops now have more under cover cars than the crown vic. watch out all you in northern va for undercover cops. Even though the cop was cool as heck, getting pulled over still sux.

hmm...i got one speeding ticket too..for doing 160 on a 110 high way..damn....bad day for come cl-s drivers~~~

Bummer, NOVA... sorry to hear about the tic. But it is good that he downgraded it a bit.
heh heh... those sways will do that to ya. I've been driving like that a little too often too. No ticket yet (knock on wood)

Sounds like ya got nabbed by the road rage squad. A lot of states have started allocating more cops to see who's driving too close to other cars or changing lanes too fast. Keep ya eyes open......

LOL! I got a ticket yesterday also.
I was coming back from Utica (to Albany, bout 200mi) and I was about 8 minutes from my house when 2 troopers nailed me. They said they clocked me several miles back doing 87 in a 65... but I had my cruise control set at bout 73 for quite a ways... so I argued with them about it. But they were dicks. Gave me the ticket.
Time to shell out more dough for a lawyer
Definately gotta get a radar detector. FUCK.

One more thing, the cop asked me if I was going to 'soup up ' my car like the civics and integra's he see's around springfield. and i said oh no I don't like modifying my car. He was like good those cars really catch attention and ask to get pulled over. I was like yeah you aboslutly right. not mentioning my engine mod hehe.

There are a couple of white Z 28 Camaro State Troopers in my state(Oregon).I have learnd to keep an eye out for them.They have cars pulled over all the time.
The best way for me to spot them is by the color of the license plates.They still have the old yellow background plates from 5 years ago.(I also use an Escort Solo detector)

I got a ticket b4 the weekend also...
speeding, I ws doing 87 in a 50 with a trailer behind me...the cop was a nice guy and knew one of the gus in the truck with me, he dropped it down to 74 in a 50 so that I could go write the aggressive driving test at the local cop shop...
if you go within 48 hours to write the test and pass along with paying a set fee of $125 you get out of the ticket as if you never got it

CHP in California use tons of high performance cars...All CHP here use at least the Crown Vics with the police package, ahich is 3.83 gearing on the rear end with upgraded suspension and dual gas tanks. There are Z28 ram airs and C5s...I even saw a 850 turbo volvo down in So Cal out on the 91 to Cabazon. Not to mention all the new BMW bikes they bought!!

the cop pulled me over when I first got the Type-S for speeding... politely gave me my ticket and said "I realize this is a fast car but just try and be careful". Took my ticket... pled guilty. That was that.
BUT EVERY OTHER F-IN INCIDENT is ALWAYS at the end of the month... with some dickhead cop that is miserable about life.

Okay some one remind us all to not speed in the end of the month. Soopa put like a banner that says "END OF THE MONTH DICK HEAD COPS LOOKEN FOR QUOTA" on the banner or something to help us all out. hehe
