got a ride in a porsche turbo

hey, i know its not as good as driving one, but i cant ask for too much

i took a pic:

http://www.photohost.org/gallery/dat...537porsche.jpg

he was afraid to open it up. for all of those that know the bronx river parkway, they know how it begs for you to go fast. He didn't want to do anything past normal driving, (understandably, because its so damn expensive). i could still tell its just insane, and was asking for more gas.

only in scarsdale will you see 2 17 year old's driving around town in a 996 turbo

My neighbor up the street has owned 6 911's in the past (coupes and cabs). Never had a turbo though. He now has 2 Ferraris (360 Spyder and 550) and a G500 2-door (imported??). Not bad for a guy about to turn 33. Oh yeah, and that V-12 torque in the 550 will snap your neck if you aren't ready. I know, I know...this post is worthless w/o pics.

ROFLMAO! I'm 32y/o and my dad wouldn't dream of me taking his '03 Turbo anywhere--even with him in it since I freaked him out so bad is his Boxster S when he bought it and let me drive it! It drives me nuts to ride around with him and watching him shift at 4k rpm! Just fu(king nutz!!!

I'm 29... I only have a 2003 cls6... but at least I use it to its full potential. I use every inch of engine, brake and suspension the car has to offer. I feel I am fulfilling its destiny.
Rather do that than having that beautiful porsche and using it in a way where I could be as happy with a focus.

but tel your friend he has quite a nice ride

I know what you mean, but... I could seriously just be sitting in a turbo, in a vacant parking lot, and be much happier than I EVER would be in a stock focus. Now a rally FOCUS is a different story...

Nah. He is from Singapore and got involved in the real estate boom there at an early age. His $$parents$$ helped him get started. Some of his money came as a result of his father tragically passing away. Unlike some other kids from well-to-do-families, this guy went on to be a Prosthodontist. That's how I know him (I drill teeth too.)

oh yes, i'd be happy also just sitting in one, but it always sadden me to see that people who usually have them just like showing off... and they don't even know what kind of engine it has, and they drive it like golf carts.
I knew someone who had a 2001 lotus. I asked him if he really tried it, he said: are you crazy???? I went once to 80!

If I'd be the one having it, I'd really enjoy THE CAR and not enjoy the fact that people are looking at me because they know more than me what I have.
