Got Rattles? Help a brother out!

I have a 10 inch sony sub and amp combo in the trunk.

I have rattles everytime the base drops.

I have secured the wires in the trunk lid as well as putting something between the 3rd brake light and the rear glass

I have a feeling it is coming from the rear deck any ideas how to stop this from happening would be appreciated.

There are two bolts with 10 mm (I think) nuts that hold the brake light housing onto the rear deck. You can reach them from inside the trunk. They can be moved backward and forward. Loosen the nuts and slide the brake light housing completely toward the back of the car. I had the same rattle you describe and when I did this the rattle was gone.

Ideas...

*What if ya remove the liner inside the trunklid?

*You're sure it's not the license plate or license plate holder (if ya have one)?

*Is it possible to add some sort of weather-stripping rubber around the outside edge of the lid to ensure it's not just rattling against the top of the sides where it meets the car?

*What about the lock mechanism? Maybe something in that is what is rattling.

I added Trimbrite door edge molding (for trucks) and it works fine for me. It does make it just a tad more difficult to shut but it will shut.

Bought it at Schucks.

I also did the door edge and really like the looks of it.
