Got the new cupholder-- bring on the stick shift!

I got my upgraded cupholder today. What a difference! Now that I don't need my right hand free to keep my drink from tipping over, I'm ready for my 6 speed. Bring it on, Acura!

Unfortunately, the 6-Speed won’t be a “drop-in” option and it MIGHT just cost a bit more.

Well, I guess technically it is, but it MIGHT be more difficult to install then a cup holder.

Well, I'm assuming that the 6 speed CL will have the new hands-free cupholder already. I'm not planning on modifying my current car.

the cupholder is the best upgrade. i tried to use it to hold my drink, and the old one just couldn't do jack. like that little plastic thing was supposed to be for bigger drinks, yeah right! then after the new one, i felt like i was in heaven. there is an honda god. :P

Search the FAQs for the part #,picture, etc. It costs about $6 at the dealer. Depending on your build date, then you might not need to get the upgraded cupholder.

And don't worry about the tabs on the new cupholder. I cut mine off with a utility knife and it fits perfectly.

...and don't let the dealership order a replacement of the same old CL cupholder for you. Insist on the new cupholder by part #, even if they claim it won't fit your car, or you can't return it, or it's for the TL only, or whatever. $7 is $7. You pay it, you get the part. If it doesn't work out for you, the part goes in the trash. But it will work....and you will be pleasantly surprised.
