Got my Sumitomo's installed... question
You cannot go by looks - almost all modern tires will have a bit of a bulge.
Figure out what pressure works for you. I started out with the door jamb recommended 32 psi, but found my handling was better with 34, then 35, and now 36 psi. I'm probably going to go a bit higher, maybe to 39 or 40 and see how it feels.
In another thread someone posted that in conversations with Sumitomo, they recommended running the tires at a minimum 70% of the max psi. The max is 51, so 0.7x51=35.7 psi. I know that some have posted that these tires work well at 41 psi.
Of course all pressures are measured with the tires cold. Don't forget to use a decent tire gauge, and to use the same gauge for all measurements for consistency's sake.
I'm going to try different pressures for myself and see what I like. Do the same.

That would be me. Reason why I called Sumitomo in the first place is because noone could give me a straight answer. But yeah...anything under 36 PSI with the Sumis is considered LOW. I've been running them @ 41 for about 6 months now. I'll try to push them to 85% (43 PSI) on my next trip to vegas (600 miles +)
I have the HTR Z II. I went 33 to 35 to 36, and now about 37.5.
At 33 the damn things were lumpy when it was cold, until they warmed up.
Things should be fun in the snow (in a bad way). Desperately searching for a winter beater :o

have had them in stock cl-s size for 7k miles now....probably the best compromise between dry performance and rain/snow handling I have ever seen considering the insane low price!! Get a good dial-typ gauge and set them all to 34/35 psi. and just leave them there unless specific situation needed warrants changing the pressure.
