got my car corner balanced today

got my car corner balanced today at west end alignment in gardena.. all i can say is WOW. the car handles 10x better now...weight transfer is a lot better. apparantly my initial ride height and preload settings threw the weight distribution way off. anyone with coilovers i HIGHLY recommend you get this done. Bit costly, but so worth it imo

You're the first guy that I've read about that's actually done a corner weight balance done. With all the guys using coilovers, it's always surprised me that there hasn't been more discussion about corner balance alignments. For the guys in Northern CA, Custom Alignment in Mountainview does a similar service. The Porsche guys are very familiar with corner balance alignments as the stock spec's for those cars have a tollerance difference left to right and front to back.

We've all seen a 4 legged table that has one leg shorter than the others. The table is not stable and more pressure is on two of the legs. Same principal applies to coilovers.

Congrats on doing it right

I had my corner balance done right when I got my coilovers from Darin there. All the S2K guys swear by him.

The process takes a while, but he knows what he's doing. Good stuff shiny.

yup...darin is the man. I've rarely seen such dedication to his work...he treats every car like his own. All the nsx guys swear by him as well.

As seen here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...320717&page=10

Glad to hear someone with a CL get it done. Can I do the same with my Tein Basics though since they're only height adjustable and how much did it run you? 100-200 like Eddy said?

Damn, so I wonder where us East coast guys (DC/Maryland specifically) can get something like this done. Sounds about like a necessity if you care about the handling you bought the coilovers for in the first place.

I need to find out where I can get this done around here. I think I'll lower it a bit more too while I'm at it.

Kensukikatayo - I corner balance my car once a year. There's no one else in So.Cal that does this as well as Darin does. Though the process is long (about 3-4 hours) I highly recommend him if you have adjustable coilovers, regardless of dampening or not. It's night and day difference.

Some of the folks that get coilovers just do it for the slammed look, but it's nice to see you guys are getting the corner balance done to optimize the handling too...

A road-race shop around here does it. I'm probably going to get mine done soon. I think Rspec got his done there.
