Got killed by a Civic Si!!!!

So me and my friends were doing some 1/4 miles tonight and this guy in a Civic Si with no ****ing intake pulls up. He had this horn looking thing were the intake would be with NO filter!! Anyway he said the only mods he had done were engine mods. No NOS no pulleys just engine mods. Well I had him off the line but at about 50 he passed me and by about 2 car lengths by the time we hit the 1/4 mile mark. I am still socked.

WTF??
What the hell was the horn looking thingy and how the hell could something just on the intake and maybe some other engine bolt-ons make a car with 100 less hp stock than you go faster?

He said he had no bolt ons, he said it was all engine work. He is suppose to be starting some company that can get crazy preformance out of honda engines with out bolt ons. The horn thing was just a tube about a foot long with a horn looking end to it. All I know is it isn't my car becuase he was blowing away mustang GTs.

Is there anyway you can find out what that thing in place of his intake was? Sounds kind of interesting.

Here is the guys site, the horn wasn't anything more than a funnel looking plastic end. Nothing too special.

Peter Yem Racing - guy used to be out in SoCal, but for some reason he moved to Texas. Been around for at least 4 years, but has been kind of lying low recently. Now I know there is a good market for imports in Texas, but Cali is the place to be - I think the competition was probably too hot. PTR is/was a pretty small business and Peter was apparently a self taught guy without the "professional" background of some other shops - doesn't mean he didn't do some fast cars.

He specialized in cylinder head porting. The car you raced was probably making 170-180 wheel hp in a 2600 lbs package. That'll put a whooping on a CL-S

It's best not to start off in Neutral when racing a Civic folks... just a suggestion.
