got 3.5?

Who sells/ships the 3.5 short block? Do I have everything on my factory 3.2 Type S to make it a complete engine? What is the typical gain? How much does it cost? A contact name/telephone #/ and or email address is really what Im looking for. And last but for some reason always the most important I have searched.

Any info would be super duper.

Contact info for what? You need a 3.5L block. Get it off of Ebay, out of a junkyard, or from a dealer. You will need many parts from the dealer. You can't just pick the stuff off a shelf at a parts store.

e-bay or junk yard is your best bet.

you dont need the block. just the crank/rods from an odyssey or 01 mdx. you can use your cl-s pistons. that is all.

With the xception of platino, You guys have been no help at all. Also, You dont have to be a post whore. Its OK, if you dont possesse the information that im inquiring about, just move on to the next thread and quit giving people sh!t about asking questions about stuff that they are ready to buy.

In previous post made TypeR metioned a complete $2500 short block and that it is a high quality mod. I need to find out if this is indeed a new 3.5 or something taken out of another car/truck. Which would be fine if it were completly rebuilt, but Im not gonna pay my hard earned cash for somebody elses headache.

I currently live in an apartment now, Im not accustomed to being without a shop to work all night in or having to buy/rent tools to complete a job, thats the significance of finding out what needs to be done to get this thing together, how much is shipping gonna be on such a large and heavy product, and last but not least, things change and sh!t happens some updated opinions from xperienced people (who have the first hand knowledge) are always valued.

Cause thats what I'd do if I didn't have no army I'd just STFU.

Rick Case Acura near me in FL had 1 guy that did it & even he did it custom. They were going to produce swaps ready made with warranties but the dealer dropped the performance shop. They are useless for any of this info now since the people who had anything to do with it are gone.

If your referring to me your right, cause I like to help people. The last car i had was a 01 clp, Auto, with no S and I always said "man if only this was a standard". And now it is. Ive sat the sideline on this forum for awhile and now im ready to get into the game. Ive decided 1st displacement, 2nd bodykit and wing, 3rd boost, then HOK purple. Interior, sound, tint, lights, and fiberglass will just find there way into the plans.

How about trying the other bolt ons? Have you thought about doing those yet?

I like bolt-ons. We already have open exhaust and a little engine, so when it comes to eliminating back pressure sure it would sound nice, but it would be like shooting yourself in the foot. Our fuel supply and throttle body is already more than sufficant for the power this thing generates. I already know Im set in my ways, but this is my first import and I still love the power of a bigger engine and the sweet sweet lobe of a over sized cam. I might not have the fastest Acura in the end......but one thing that You will be able to say about it is "Holy insert profanity here "

apparently sitting on the sideline on this forum still hasn't taught you what red text means.

So after all of this nonsense I guess the correct response is "I don't know who ships the short block and I probably shouldn't of even chimed in to begin with." But thanks anyway.

There is no special short block. The motor is a mix of various peices from 3.5L motors in a J32A2 engine block. Don't see whats so confusing here.

Dude we're tring to tell you no one does except a dealer. There are no performance shops that sell a 3.5 kit, or a 3.5 engine. You need to research & source out your own 3.5 block & components. Just like cleancl did & typer. Then you need to find a shop that can handle putting it together if you can not do it.
There were 2 shops in FL that were trying to do a kit or a block. 1 was rick case(see my other post) the other decided it wasn't worth it & stopped intreast.
Were not tring to give you hard time here....You keep asking the same question & replies in this thread have already answered you. A search would have turned up the only other 3.5 threads by typer & cleancl. All the info you need to get this done is in those threads.

why don't you buy a complete NEW MDX block ('02) and NEW CL-S pistons
do a swap, adjust your stock CL-S valves and you are ready to ROCK-n-ROLL .

NEW engine block and pistons is da shit

I still can't believe TypeR 1/4 mile numbers. Very cool.
But 02AV6 is better .

Weight reduction and of course skills make a difference

True, but track condition/ambient temps/elevation make a difference.
Still, 12.8 and 13.3 is a HUGE difference.

Do you like those T1S tires? And what was psi when you ran it?

T1-S was at 30 p.s.i. and im not sure what you mean about the weather ? im in florida we dont typically set any speed records...and 13.306 and 12.89 im not sure i'd call that a huge differnce...i was hoping to see a 12.9 with just my throttle body/upper/lower intake and drag radials that i had done since my 13.30.but we shall never know

The info's out there, but it is hard to find, too many topics on it and takes to long to read through it. Here is what I found out and you can confirm by going to http://www.acuraparts247.com/.

I compared part numbers for the 01-03 CLS auto and 6spd, and compared them with the 01-02 mdx 3.5 part numbers and also the 03 mdx. The 03 mdx and up block will not work in our cars. The 01-03 CLS basic block is the same part number that the 01-02 mdx block has, same block. the 3.5 is just a different crank, rods and pistons. pistons lower compression and possibly a different valve pocket due to a smaller valve on the 3.5.

You can get a complete 01-02 mdx 3.5 short block that your cl heads will bolt to for around 1450.00. however, that block will be lower compression than the 3.2. that should be replaced with some forged pistons but depends on what your going to do with it, FI or NA, have fun.
