Alright this is not really a race story, but I went on a road trip this weekend to Yuma. On the way back, there is a small section of windy mountain road, and after that is the straightest most boring section of highway in the country (I-8). Anyway some prick in an Infiniti SUV was riding my ass through the twisty mountain section. So when we hit the straight-away I decided to just gun it. The Infiniti tried to keep with me for a while, but I was gone. Got the car up to 135 MPH before I hit a another section of cars. Mind you I had 4 people and luggage for each in my ride. I am real impressed with the power of these VTEC engines. Out of curiosity, what is the fastest most of you have gotten your car up too?

120 the day after i bought it (97 2.2) and 10 minutes later i found myself thinking of where i'd be getting $600 to pay off my most recent ticket!

yes i did, i put a post up about 2 months ago when it happened, i was just minding my business comin home, i left the rest of the car club at wendy's somewhere in PA, just cruising home and the guy had a grill and thought he was hot shit, i stayed dead even with him from about 70-120 then i slowed down merged lanes and flew ahead, damn amateurs. he was weaving in and out and still couldn't catch up, he's never been on the long island expressway during rush hour, that tought me how to bob and weave

 

I got it up to 128 coming home from a tennis tournament...i would have kept going but I ran outta freeway....

I went about 140-145. Playing around with an older porche late night on 95. Kind of scary

 

150+ Don't know exactly, needle went over the 155 mark.

 

I hit the speed limiter in my 2001 CL-S. The speedometer read 150mph. I've gotton the 6 speed up to about 130mph so far.

 

I am just curious how in the world did you guys get over 140+ mph in a other wise stock Cl S. I am assuming they are stock, the fastest Ive gottten my brother's is 137 or so i dont think she had more in her, maybe because of govenor. I know what it takes to get up to them speeds and it needs a heck of a lot more than stock. fastest ive gotten my Cobra is to 140 and yes she has plenty more in her but like good ol ford does the goernor kicked in and fuel shut off. I am just curious what mods you did to get that fast. Thanks

 

I had headers on the 2001 and it definitely helped.

 

140 in stock on I-5 with 2 ppl and super heavy luggage in back ... it surprisingly wasnt that scary..... not like going 100 in an 82' accord - that is scary!

 

133 on the raleigh beltline I love two oclock traffic theres just enough people where a cop couldnt clock you from behind and theres a big ass median so you only have to worry about whats in front of you

 

the fastest ive gotten to was 132. i was ridding on I85 (ATL) and this kid with an integra that lives next to me he's always trying to flex his car in front of me. he for intake, catback, and header's we were going (80 mph roll on)and i droped it into 3rd and he downshifted. we were even till the v-tec (95 or so) once i hit that i walked him and he shut down, i kept on going then put on the hazard's and kept going till i got 132 then i had to slow down to get off the highway. i wanted to get him at a light but havent got the chance yet!
