Well for my 2 cents, is that people at times definately gang up on the NOOBS.

As I do a lot side with the guys that have been around a long time, since it shows they stick with something instead of it just being a thing to do at the time and then leave. A lot of Old CL owners still come here which is great.

But people do need to be more tollerant of questions the Newbies post and just answer like times the old timers used to ask the same thing when the car was New. Its new to them

edit : So for my 2 cents I did think mrsteve (whom I never had a issue with) did kinda shove it in the guys face with the "you snooze you loose" comment since some people might have not been here when the group buy was starting to going on.

Well, there have been so many group buys here fall through. The uni-chip just happens to be one that a lot of people worked hard on and is going to see fruition. Now there are a ton of people coming out of the woodwork who want it. It's frustrating to see since we could have used their support earlier. I understand $$ was a concern for some... but it's still hard to see so much more excitement and inquiry now that it's a "definite" instead of a "maybe".

i think the R&D department that scalbert headed had plenty of help. They probably could have used more, but scalbert knew what he was doing.

Besides that, why are you stating the obvious? of course not everyone is going to offer their help, espcecially if they don't know what they are doing.

of course people are going to want the finished product. thats obvious.

Agreed I spent hours upon hours going to different sites and answering questions and organizing the lists and everything for the GB.. I spent alot of my time toward it.. And the GB was open for atleast a month for people to jump on. At first we struggled to hit 20.. If some of the people would've just thrown down a $100 deposit we could've hit the 40 mark and saved us all atleast another $30-40.. It's just frustrating to see all these people that want in on it now after all of us have spent so much time toward it. Steve included..

I just can't stand the people that think they are the "moral police" and are so judgemental by a few words that could be taken either way.. Just my 2 cents..

Understood... But there are 40++ pages of the Unichip Group Buy in the other thread that he could've read.. Everything is summarized on the first two pages for anyone that has questions.. This would've never been a issue also if he scrolled down in car talk or by a simple search.. Steve did answer his questions he just so happened to throw a little extra in the fire..

What's done is done.... It is what it is..

Manic - Kind of confused here, from what I see the car you have that runs circles around everyone is a 03 CL-S 6 speed... And you had me add you to the list of people that were intersted once some testing was done on the 6-speed and you were planning on purchasing the UniChip.. Care to explain..?!?

Edit: Actually sorry I see you have a 03 6 speed and a 01 auto..

I stopped reading that HUGE-ASS thread after it was posted that this was for the Auto guys only.
Now I see mention of a 6-Speed “interested party” list.

Since I’m not about to read 45-pages and 1,108 posts worth of info, could someone briefly recap the info for the 6-Speed guys or is the buyer list already set?

Thanks,
Shawn S

I still have a compiled list in case you guys get something going.. I also have the list for the TL-P guys, in case you guys get it going at the same time and have a joint GB.. The 6-speed chip was dead b/c nobody can make it to UniChip for testing.. But Mattg seems to have something up his sleeve..

Obviously Mr Jonesi . . . too many people have forgotten the old kiddie story of the Little Red Hen. Nobody wanted to help with the work, but they all wanted to reap the rewards.

Much props to you and the whole team that pulled this off. I know how hard these things are and would have helped if I had the expertise in this space . . . and would have signed up to buy one, but business has been tough. Shoot, I couldn't pull off getting an icebox now if I needed one.

Anyway, just keep in mind that there are people out there that don't get out to the Forum very often. I've even been absent for 2-3 months at a time when things get crazy.

The good news is you guys have done it and I suspect there is more to learn and you pioneers will be the ones driving it.

So here's to the Forum Pioneers . . . may they bring us even more great stuff we all hope to have some day.

Do you know me? No, you don't. I no longer live with my parents, I have my own place. I purchased and financed the loan for my CL-S with MY MONEY on MY OWN. I pay MY OWN insurance. I receive $0 from my parents. They supported my tuitions from grade school through college and I think feel that is more than enough for any child to expect once they become able to support themselves... I'm 21 by the way.

I do not "have to have the best stuff out there" for my car, because I don't! I work hard to afford what I have and live a very comfortable lifestyle even after all of my expenses.

How do you sense deep insecurities? WTF is that all about? Because I mad a "smart ass" comment about the all the latecomers to the group buy? It is very frustrating to see 10+ people attempt to jump on board for this project 2 weeks to completion when the pricing was finalized months ago.

I didn't attack anyone personally prior to Manic opening his mouth. And Manic is still the only person I have attacked and it will stay that way. You guys are ridiculous.

So what's happening with the 6-speeds Matt? I had been talking to Jack about this a while back. He said he wanted to get a car in there. It would be possible to re-map the pin outs from the auto P&P to the 6-speed harness. I thought about doing that myself. Jack had also said that the unit could be hardwired no problem. Maybe you could start a thread and let us know what you've found out. This thread got kind of queer.

I think Mattg contancted Unichip privately on the side about the second map. I'm sure they could reflash your chip with the same format Mattg will be running. Try and call them.

read the first post in the GB thread. they were planning using my car from the start.

i would suggest anyone who wants this option email todd or jack and let them know.

my car should be going on their dyno the week of may 17th. i'm confident they will be tuning a 6 speed that same week. more details as soon as i know them.
