Sorry dude.
Be prepared to bend over and take it from the insurance company on that one. NJ insurance sucks to begin with. God forbid you get a ticket or get in an accident.

Not a good idea...
If the car is totalled, it becomes property of the insurance company. Combine that with the fact that they probably have on file that it's a NAVI CLS... Not a good move if you ask me.

This sucks man. Hope he is ok.
I think its prolly not totalled but there is about 11 grand of damage here. All the audio stuff is yours to keep, insurance wont have much to do with it unless you they knew b4 hand it was in the car.

I hope your Bro is OK.
It's sad to see any car like that especially a Cl.
1. Use this as an excuse to never let anyone drive your car again. (Especially your brother)
2. Use Zaino it is supposed to repel everything including off ramp rashes - trying to "rub off" a little humor

It’s probably totaled because I’ve seen pictures here of cars that didn’t look THAT bad and they ended up being totaled.
A hit like that to the REAR would probably be fixable, but that looks terminal.
Of course we’re all guessing and that’s up to the “professionals” to decide.

Damn dude, sorry about the accident. Hope your brother was alright...just a car, right?
My GSR was totalled and while working with the insurance, they basically told me that the car will still need a radio and wheels and tires and all that, but I was free to go there to swap things out or take things back that weren't on the list of how they priced things out. I mean, you will have an argument on the settlement if you can prove what all the equipment cost in the car. I wanted to grab my Clifford alarm and they told me to go ahead since it wasn't on the settlement list, but I left it 'cause the car was in LA and I live in Phoenix. I actually got more than what I thought they'd give me, but it was still less than what I think I should've got if I sold it myself. But my car was pretty much stock.
Dude, if it's not totalled, the car will never be the same. I mean, looks like there is probably some engine damage.
My guess is that, unless the frame was tweaked, this car won't be deemed a "hazard to drive". But in anycase, pick a good place to fix it if they can. If it's totalled, argue with them for the settlement price...my uncle successfully argued for an extra $1000 for his minivan before. I wasn't successful on my GSR though. They say they will reimburse you "market value" which means they will check around to see what others bought their cars for (used, similar model). My agent told me to check the AutoTrader to get an idea of what I should expect. But if you added a ton of stuff into the car, keep that in mind and be ready to negotiate with them. But if you take something off the car, they will need something to replace it with...like if you take your wheels and tires, be sure you bring back the old crappy ones.
Once again, sorry to see this tragedy, but at least everyone is alright.

I'd go rip out the stereo because they think(unless your paying more for a custom system) your rolling with stock. but I'd try to salvage as much as possible
if they total it. I'd basically "clean the car" rip out the seats, rip out the Navigation system, rip off the wheels, take as much as you can MAKE SURE YOU GET THE Acura symbol so some ricer civic can buy it on e-bay . but you'd be surprised at some of the stuff you could get on e-bay.
because if it's totalled they are required by law to send it to the junkyard and eventally crush it.

why wasnt he driving his 740i???
Also, practically anything with damage to the major front end, intruding into the engine bay is totalled. THE ACL has most of its money there, the tranny 1 k, the engine 10 k, chassis/structure 4k
Remember there are always labor costs as well...

Another smashed CL-S!?
What's up with smashed silver CL-S's this week?
First YuppieCL's ride, and just this morning I passed an accident scene around 10:00 on Route 46 West in Wayne by Willowbrook where it splits off into 46, 80 and 23. Damage was very similar to YuppieCL's, smashed front end. Hope everyone was ok.
