Good Deal?
Good Deal?
Hi everyone, i'm new here if you haven't noticed
I am in the market for a used car and was looking for luxury, power and reliability for a decent price.
I came across this: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...or=&cardist=21
And I fell in love. I am going to check it out tonight and see how it is.
I wanted to know if there is anything I shouyd know before going? I have done plenty of research on it already and know about the tranny problems. Are the tranny problems enough that I should stay away? Or are some 01's not affected? I want to know if it is almost a sure bet I will have tranny problems or not.
Otherwise, aside from tranny, should I do it?
Thanks!

that is overpriced, especially for a NON Type-S.
if you buy a CL, do yourself a favor and get a Type S, you will have buyers remorse forever if you dont. you should be paying about that same price 15k-17k for a 2001 CL Type S with average mileage.

the tranny problems were never completely fixed and any 2001, 2002, or 2003 automatic CL or CL-S is exposed to the problem, however you get a 100k warranty on it, so its your risk to take. many many trannys have blown, 2003's have been better but all 2001 and all 2002 are the same.

I can't find a type s anywhere around here for near that price!
All the 01 type S's i find are at least 19k +
I need to stay below 18k
Thought it was a good deal.
Didnt know there was that big of a difference between the regular coupe and type-s.
Is it just speed and power? If so, I dont mind...
I am coming from a POS 96 altima LOL. 225 hp is more than enough for me.

there are many differences between the CL-S and CL-P
just to name the most obvious:
better styled seats (perforated)
white face guages
Type-S shift knob
35 horsepower
17 inch, 5 spoke rims
VSA traction control systems different from CL-P
