Going on vacation .. what about my car?

I'm gonna be gone for 6-8 weeks. Want to know if I need to do anything special?

The car is going to be in a storage shed. Covered, not heated.

Do I need to disconnect anything .. like the battery? How about the tires? I've heard of putting like rubber mats on the floor area that the tire will sit on instead of letting em sit on the floor ... or something like that?

Someone also suggested a couple of those little silicon sachets that come with electronic boxes and stuff inside my car (like passenger and driver area)?

Thanks guys!

ps - oh yeah i live right below lake michigan .. in south bend, indiana ... It gets cold real fast here.

There's a whole section in the owners manual on what to do when the veihcle will not be moved for a long period of time.

don't worry about 6-8 weeks.

i had the car parked for 5 months and didn't disconnect the battery and she started right up afterwards.

tires, just increase the pressure by a pound/si or so. this is just to help prevent flat spots (best is to put it on jacks), but 6-8 weeks shouldn't require this.

if it's going to be in a garage or something, crack the window a little bit.

otherwise, just fill the tank and clean and wash it.
