so GM, GM, or nissan... !?!?

jeep?
toyota?
ford?
lexus?
Acura?
Rover?

lots of options. whats your price range? what do you need it for?

probably should have asked for opinions, then had a poll with the popular choices.

Are you getting rid of the CL????
As for an answer to your question....I like the Trail Blazer. It doesn't really ride like a truck, and it has a 270hp motor! WHATEVER YOU DO....don't get that fucking hideous extended Trail Blazer.....

It was easier to say that "I" was looking for a SUV, but its for mother dearest - She doesn't want to go over 35k with tax - so price is between $25-35 for some reason she is partial to those 3 cars, but any other suggestions in that price range are well welcomed

...Thanks Scrib

It would be a little over $35K depending on your tax rate, but the VW Touareg (V6)

Stay away from the GM crap.
The Trailblazer has tons of recalls and the build quality is terrible.

Go with the Pathfinder, Highlander, Pilot or Murano in the 30-35 price range.

Pathfinder

The GM's are some shit - full of more recalls than Toyotas, Nissans, Fords and Jeeps combined.

I'd just suggest a Jeep Grand Cherokee - but that's just me!

I drove a Honda Pilot yesterday, and it is a pretty nice car. Also, check out Pathfinder, I think the classic style and interior layout has always been a winner IMO.

i drove the Trailblazer at a GM test drive event, and that thing sucks. It was probably the worst handling SUV out there (they had a bunch of other models to compare). It felt like it was going to flip even at slow speeds.

I would have to agree, just today I picked up a Trailblazer as a rental and thus far have been terribly unimpressed with all constituents of the vehicle less it's ability to plow over/through speed bumps and medians.

Yes, I got the $15 insurance.

I just got a '03 Mercury Mountaineer Luxury edition today for 24K! I like it for the third row of seats and free leather interior. The former is probably the biggest reason I bought the car because we are expecting in June and I want to have space to expand if necessary. Option-wise, it has almost everything my CL did less navigation and a sunroof the latter is available though. I am very skeptical on the maintance department though. It will no longer be Acura service with the free loaner cars.

My wife wanted a trailblazer too but after I looked at the cost, options and the reviews on the trailblazer I decided against it. The extended version is HIDEOUS no doubt.

The inline 6 in the trailblazer, envoy etc. is POWERFUL to say the least. Since I was just shopping for the wife I wasn't to concerned about the power aspect.

All of that said, if I could have afforded a 4runner that would have been first choice! As a matter of fact, that was the first one I tried for. Reliability will always stay with Toyota. On the other extreme if bargain shoppin the Kia Sorento looks damn good.

4Runner. Murano is nice too though. Don't know that the Murano would be as capable if you had to use it for big time moving.

Out of the 3 , I like the Envoy, yes I know it's GM, but still. It is semi stylish. I don't have any experience with PAthfinder. If I were going to get an SUV, I would be looking at the crossovers, like the Murano and FX35/45...now those are cool
