one day chap, you will need to learn to drive "standard" (damn I hate to call it like that when it was "optional" in the CL)

A few things my Legends had that I miss. The electronic/memory for steering wheel adjustments with tilt away, seat belt presenters, automatic door closers.

I don't like how you can not see the clock when the car is off. In my legend you could just push a button near the clock when the car was off and the clock display would light up. In my CL Navi dash, you can't see the clock til you turn on the car and wait for the Navi start up to cycle.
Picky yes, but convenience is great.

Can't really think of a good reason not to buy an 03 CLS 6MT. But I can tell you I still love driving my car after nearly 2 years; especially with all the CT goodies installed, etc...

Here are a few links to help you decide...

7. People who spent much more money on a Mercedes or BMW will hate you. ( refer to answer #4).
8. Last, but not least, some CL owners, have experienced a rare and serious medical condition, called modificationaddiction, fortunately for me I have not experienced this problem.

I could go on and on, but I love my car, so I don't want to badmouth it.

BUY ONE!
LOL!

Well, thanks again everyone. This is all great info. Since I live in a snowy climate I may wait until spring to buy (dont feel like shelling out for snow tires just yet) - but, I will post up if I pick one up, the CL-S is definately the way I'm leaning.

It's seems hit or miss sometimes as far as build quality is concerned...This car could be sweet, but the poor build quiality can kill things, you will notice new rattles and sqeeks everyday, more so in cold weather as everything contracts...Expect a lot of stuff to just plain break, bought the car new and the onstar did'nt work, and like the second time I used the lumbar support the handle just freaking broke off...Stock the handling is avg at best, stock tires are tough (can handle a beating and keep ticking) but not the greatest performance wise but good enough for normal driving, snow / wet tracktion is decent. As a used car for 19K or less I would go for it....Beware though the paint is lame, will scratch and chip easily, and becarefull where you park, car attracts dings and dents...

I've had 2 03 CLS 6 speeds, build quality has been good to excellent. My 2nd car's sunroof glass squeaked and dealer but some tape on the surround, fixed it ok. I think the 01s squeaked more than the 03's, hasn't bee much of a problem for me. Brakes and paint could be better, not up to the overall quality of the car IMO.

fwd
stock height is way too high, wheel gap is enormous
sunroof barely slides back..it should go further
no fog lights
brakes could be better

my only gripes with the car..otherwise its almost perfect to me. Very fun and comfortable call overall.

Comfort=9.5 (and i am 6'2 tall)
Looks=8 (stock)
Performace=9
Value=10

you'll find that the quality of the car is VERY low by honda standards. i bought mine new and have been very disappointed. lots of anoying little things. they all add up. the paint is very poor. the engine seems fine, the clutch is a little quirky, lots of torque steer, the suspension is too stiff for me.

but like you i couldn't find any reasonable alternatives in the coupe market. this or the accord. the new accord just isn't as nice as the last generation. so i also ended up w/ the 6-speed. i'm just hoping it holds up until i can move on to a better quality car.

good luck.

Yeah I know, if I'm going to buy something that is supposed to be pretty much on luxury car standards, I want it to feel that way. Not like I'm riding in a go kart

I think you're mistaking the LSD, which cancels out a lot of understeer, for torque steer. Suspension too stiff? Try even a moderatly lowered car (like the 04 TL with A Spec shocks & springs) or one with bigger wheels. The CL-S is hardly stiff by comparison. Maybe you need a Lincoln or Caddy.

The new Accord isn't as nice as the last gen? Perhaps by styling, but the interior is eons ahead of the interior in the CL.

What's wrong with the go kart feel ?? I like having it feel like the fillings in my teeth are going to pop out

I think a stock CLS isn't that bad, and it really is a happy mediium. Lowering it would probably make it more like a go cart (I'm still stock, but have been thinking about lowering).

I don't like the "floaty" feeling of some luxury cars, and the CLS actually does feel floaty at times, but not enough to bother me...

The steering feedback doesn't really inspire confidence either
