GF wants to borrow my car

Here's my dilema my girl just crashed her Eclipse Spyder so, now that her car is in the body shop she asked me lend her one of my cars She doesn't have a good track record with cars she totaled her previous car so I'm a little scared of what could happen, she drives an average of 350 miles a week so my questions is Which car should I lend her? I have a 03 CLS 6 Speed and a 02 330i help me out cause I'm scared to lend her either one

How much do you love her? I would not let her drive either one unless we was close to marriage

hell no dont do it. your CL is rare, and the 330 isnt a civic, i wouldn't do it. now if her track record is good, that would be a different story.
if you do decide to lend the car to her, make sure you let your insurance company know before hand, just incase there is an incident, they won't play hard ball

You should rent her a car. That's my guess.

Ah... that's a tough situation...

Let her drive the BMW or rent a car for her...

PS.. In your sig, you have your 03 listed as Milano red, that was a color for the 1st gen CL's... San Marino red is the correct color for the 03's...

Usually rental cars are convered under insurance. That's the first choice. Might as well put miles on someone elses car.

I thought that the 1st gen's red was Bordeaux Red, just like in the 5th gen Accords?

You're correct is San Marino Red my mistake, I tried the rental car she wasn't to happy, she asked which was more important her or the car? of course I was thinking the car but I had to say her, and BTW were pretty close to getting married so I'm kind of stuck, but I think I will give the rental car one more try. Thanks for the advise guys I'll keep you posted on what happens, I have until Tuesday to figure something out, I was leaning towards the 330i because I don't want to give up my CL

Seems like you already know the answer to your question, and you may be trying to deny it to yourself.

DON'T let her drive your cars. The risk of your increased insurance rates, cost of a deductible, and risk of her writing off yet another car isn't worth it.

She should've been smart enough to get "rental coverage" from her insurance company given how often she has accidents. Strongly suggest that she gets rental coverage from now on, and if you really want to be nice, help her pay for part of her rental car costs.

Rent her a car. She may say you love your car more than you love her. But thats not the case. You just want to avoid the possibilities. That is what I would do. Or introduce her to public transportation.

If she cant handle a Eclipse Spyder, how she going to handle a 3 series BMW, take 03 CL TypeS advice...... And if you do decide to give her your car, how long she going to drive it for...watch a 1week will become 1year... Get the rental, its YOUR property not her's.

you'd be crazy to let a women drive your car ...women can't drive for shit. plus just explain to her that she's not exactly a good driver. you'll just end up getting your car damaged in one form or another if you let her borrow the car. tell her to go rent a car from enterprise or hertz

is the 330 auto? if so, lend her that one.

tell her if she crashes... that will be the last time she ever uses either of your cars.

I'm pretty sure he would actually like to avoid from saying: "oh man. you just crashed my 330... that's the last time you EVER use one of my cars."

Get her a rental. Or offer to cover one with her. Like someone said, it's your property not hers.

Just tell her you're not insured for other people. I say that all the time if people "need to borrow my car."

Dude if she pulls that "you love your car more than me."

Simply respond with "your point is?"

There's also Inza Red Pearl Metallic which is the 96-98 1st gen CL red IIRC. Acura switched to Milano Red in 1999 on the CL...

Ding069's 1999 is milano red:

shineynitelite's 97 is Inza Red:

He's some more red paint codes...

R-81 Milano Red
R-94 San Marino Red
R-504P Ruby Red Pearl
R-507P Firepepper Red
R-519P Redrock Pearl Metallic
R-522P Redondo Red
R-530P Dark Mahogany Pearl
R-534M Sandston Metallic

If you can't trust her with your car or if wrecking your car will break you apart, she's not the one.

Take her cell phone, makeup kits, coffee mug, lock the stereo... pretty much anything she can use in a car to distract her (even a vibrator if she's the freaky type).... Then give her the keys.

All that ofcourse only if you truly thing this is the girl.... It doesn't seem that way from your comments, so my real suggestion.... Enterprise... they'll even pick her up so the car has that much more time to live.

Unfortunately, if you're marrying the chick, give her one of the cars and then hope for the best. I would say the CL. I'm glad I don't have these issues.

Although this maybe funny I am in complete agreement. I had (being the keyword) an Infiniti QX4 before the my CL and my Ex(Again keyword) girlfriend totaled it after we were in the same dilemma you are bout to get yourself into. Don't do it. If you like her that much help her pay for a rental or take her out to an expensive evening, either way your saving money and insurance premiums. Don't make my mistake.
