Oh awesome!! I've heard horror stories of them being much more expensive than that! I just purchased a key and fob from acuraoemparts.com.

Did you get the T5 key? If you paid 14.50 or whatever for the key the parts department doesn't have the capability to program it (according to my dealer.) And you have to pay the service department to do it at their hourly rate for however long it takes to program it. This sounded like a load to me but I wasn't gonna buy the key twice so I paid the extra 10 and was done with it.

Btw most dealers price match. I normally just bring in the print out from acuraoemparts with parts that I need highlighted. Now the parts guy just takes 25% he said forget about the printouts. I just prefer to deal locally I guess.

oh okay, thanks! I probably should have done it that way, but I usually buy everything from acuraoem... They've always done right by me

I paid about $20 for a key, cutting, and programming at my local Acura dealership. Just call around cause some charge more then others.

Werd. $80 is crazy. It's not laser cut or anything. It's a $20 key if that. One dealership around here was charging more so I drove an extra 15 minutes but I'd never pay $80. At that price you could ship it off to get keyed for less.
