Getting to the defroster vents without removing the dash?
I'm trying to chase down a rattle and it's sounds like it's coming from the defroster vents near the middle of the dash. Do I have to remove the whole dash or will they come up from the top? I took the instrument panel off and can't get to them. I can't even see them.

I am having a similar situation, but for me it is a broken temp sensor that is lodged in that middle little hole. I might have to remove the whole dash to get it out.
You can pry those vents out from the top, but chances are you will distort how the dash will fit/look and it will never go back.

They are clips, becareful they are really brittle. If you like I can show you pictures on how to take off the dash.
As for the temp sensor its a clip too. Should be very easy to pry off.

The top of my temp sensor was broken off by a shop and they shoved the other part of sensor back in the hole and put the broken piece on top. It is not easy to remove in this case.

Pictures would be great. It'll give me an idea of what I"m up against.
