when i started my car yesterday, the maint light, CEL and VSA triangle lit up and stayed on. this was totally out of the blue. i turned the car back off and restarted it and only the CEL stayed on.

any ideas?

i know there is a way i can check it myself, can someone explain that process?

or i guess there are some auto parts stores that can scan it for me.

 

hey matt could be wrong but in my case it was the 02 sensor... took it to the dealer and they just checked both the 02 sensors, checked the connections and put them back in... everything has been good so far... I had they same symptoms as you have mentioned... but really as said by others check the code.

drove to work today and it was still on.


left work to run some errands and no CEL, started it after leaving the bank and no CEL.





no CEL on the way home

 

if the error that caused it isnt still on going 3 cold starts and the CEL light will go out but the code is still stored and it does hurt performance...goto an auto car parts store and have it read ,write it down then clear it
