Getting the '02 TL-S wood Steering

Called my dealer in Chicago yesterday (can u believe I have to drive 100 miles to get to the closest Acura dealership!) anyways .. they said they'd change my steering wheel to the new TL-S wood steering wheel for $460 (I dont remember the exact amount ) I'll post some pictures when I get it back (next weekend .. )

It wont take the whole week .. but since I travel so much, any time I need to get servicing done on my car; I use the late sunday night drop off before hurrying to my flight and pick up my car late friday night on my way back home.

So unfortunately it'll be next weekend before I can post pictures

Besides, it is free parking =) otherwise I end up having to pay $100 + to park for 5 nights at O'Hare!!

At www.ahmotor.com they're selling the wood steering wheel for 399 + sipping but you have to install it yourself. It's not difficult to install, i heard. The wheel isn't listed on their sight, you have to call them up to get the price.

I saw the new steering wheel in person at Miami Acura.... i loved the new emblem in the center but i wasnt sure about the overall apperiance. I thought it looked like they tried to cram to many cool features (perferated leather (holes), wood trim, colored emeblem)on to the wheel. I thought it looked kinda dumb. The wheel looks better without the wood but with the new emblem IMO

I am a little concerned .. do you know if the wood is of the same shade as the stock wood paneling in the CL-P? I think it is burlwood (could very possibly be wrong about the shade of the stock panelling)... but my point is, does anyone know if the TL-S steering will match with that trim?

I just got off the phone with my dealership and he said no to my wood steering wheel and the tints. Said, the guy who I spoke with friday when I set up my appointment was a temp and didnt know that the TL-S steering wheel is not suited for the CL and it is illegal for them to install it on my car till they receive specs from acura on how to order the right airbag parts/configuration for the CL ..

anybody have a different experience ?? maybe I should try another dealership or order the wheel from ahmotor as NightHawk recommended and install it myself.
