Gate Shifting: Pull your shift knob all the way to the bottom...then manually shift going from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 and then 5

It's pretty much what JaySyn said: Shifting by manualy pulling the knob to the "1" position then shifting it into "2."

It is said to be better than sportshift because you can control the 1--->2 upshift, i.e. redline first gear.

 

if you want to go to max redline, make sure and bump the shifter ~ 6800 rpm. that way the tranny will shift ~ 7100-7200 rpm. don't be surprised if you hit the rev limiter a few times.

i've still run in the 14.30's hitting the rev limiter a couple times in 1st then barking the tires into 2nd.

with wheels..yea..headers are gonna wait till i get my catback exhuast

 

Gate shifting will let you take the car to redline in 1st gear.
SS mode will shift out of first BEFORE redline. I only use
gate shifting when I'm at the track. It does make a difference!!!
