Well as the oil runs out it'll only get worse.
By 2010 we'll all be in deeper shit than this!
I still don't understand why there aren't LOTS more alternative fuels and hybrid/fuel cell cars out there. You'd think the government would want to decrease the dependency on oil and reduce emissions at the same time.
Oh wait, that's right, we've got an administration funded by oil companies, nevermind.

Fortunately, in our lifetime we won't have to worry about oil running dry. Future generations... Ugg.. That will be interesting.

i know they already have hydro-electric motors, just no need to perfect them yet, or release them for that matter, they are making way too much money and they can set prices wherever they want to, and yes, im definitely thinking over $3....think about it, this tmie of years is usually the cheapest. by the time july august come around im willing to bet and give odds that it is over $3

Guys, the rising prices in gasoline is only the tip of the iceberg. This has a lot to do with our federal deficits Only a few years ago, the euro dollar was worth 80 cents US, when we had surpluses in trade and the deficits were in control. Now the euro is worth about $1.30 US. That my friends, is a whopping devalue of over 60% of the once mighty dollar The US dollar also devalued against other major currencies in the world. This transfer of wealth to Europe and other countries has caused our prices to rise. Gasoline prices are the most visible to us!
Take a look around your home and see how many imported goods we buy! You will see them rise in prices unless the current damn administration is willing to halt the deficits. Either way it is a little too late. This the the countesy of the Bush administration and the astronomical spending in the military conquest in Iraq is directly related to the deficits.

I wish gas were 5-Dollars a gallon.
I’d love to see 15,000 rebates on overpriced SUV’s that are collecting dust on the dealer lots.
And watch the owners pay 150 bucks for a fill up of their 8-MPG Hummers EVERY WEEK.

With a dead empty tank this morning, I filled up at $2.04 a gallon. Ouch!
To make matters worse, our beloved Resident wants fo fill up the strategic oil reserve, which, last I read was short about 7,000,000,000 gallons, so he's not helping us at all.
The refineries are restricting the output, keeping prices high. Good old supply and demand you know. And I made the one of the first early posts when the stock market section in ramblings opened. I predicted $3 a gallon by this summer. Unfortunately, looks like I'm gonna be right.
Shawn, I work with a guy who has two modes of transportation. A viper, and an H2 (yes, he makes a lot of money). I've always wondered what the H2 got for gas mileage. We recently had lunch at the same place but in different groups at different tables.
He lives one town away from work.
I didn't want to embarass him by asking him mileage in front of a bunch of people, so I posed my question differently.
How much gas does that H2 hold?
30 gallons, but I still have to fill it TWICE a week. Assuming regular, at $1.80= $108 per week, $432 per month and $5076 per year. WOW!
Anyone know the gas mileage for the h2, driven nicely and driven hard?

Well Bush better get re-elected then, because you know no Democrat would have the balls to take any action about anything and at least he's proven he does and thereby has some intimidation factor over the Middle East.
Maybe we'll take over Saudi Arabia next and make the 51st state the combined area of Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

I don't drive or like them myself but that doesn't lead me to post inane comments about them on a car forum.

This is what I will be getting if the price really goes up to $3.xx per gallon.
I think it does 44~50 MPG

every once in a while, when hes home, my brother is nice to me and we get in my car and head over to this fort right outside of ATlanta (i cant remember the name). anyway, we get in with his military ID and there is a filling station there. 8 months ago, it was like 85 cents a gallon for 87.
that was the cheapest tank ive ever driven, needless to say
