Gas opening question....
I was filling up this morning and I saw something a little shocking... As I removed my gas cap, I noticed that there wasn't a little metal flap blocking the hole. Does anyone know what I'm talking about here? It's a little spring loaded metal flap that pops back into place once you remove the gas pump and blocks the hole, and likewise gets pushed out of the way when you put the pump tip in to fill up. Well, I don't know if I ever had one, but I know I don't have one now.
Do our cars have these? And if so should I be concerned that it isn't there anymore?

Ok.... *phew*
I couldn't remember if I'd had one or not. Thanks for the reply. I can stop worrying about a little piece of metal sloshing around in my gas tank.
