I want to get a credit card that helps pay for gas, does anyone have a recomendation?

 

if you don't intend on paying the whole bill each month, DON'T get a gas card. they charge like 21% interest for unpaid balance. i carry texaco.....as a just incase sorta thing. and i pay the balance in full every month.

 

i have a texaco card and use it everytime i fill up, either at texaco or shell stations across the country.

i pay off the balance every month, and it makes it very easy to keep track of my monthly spending in gasoline.

 

I have the Shell Platinum Mastercard. %5 back on Gas, worth it. plus u can use it everywhere else and get 1%.

 

do we really need a texaco card or shell card??
I use my Discover card and get 1% cashback and I can use it in any gas station..
Is there an advandatage of those gas cards?? (I guess Shell's card has 5% gas back.. not bad!)

Nope not really any advantage to these cards.

I have one, because I pay it off every month and I can keep these costs separate from my Mastercard, which I don't pay off every month.

Those are the only 2 credit cards I have, so I keep increasing my credit rating, one by not having a ton of cards but by having more than one, and two by paying off the gas card every month yet keeping a balance for a month or two on my mastercard then paying it off. Makes everyone happy.

It is all just the credit game, you have to know how to play.
