G35C or CLS?
Well I just got the online "brochure" e-mailed to me today for the G35 Coupe... The minute I bought my car I wished I had waited to get the G35 b/c of the power, style, and just str8 up luxury that it had with it... Needed a new car right then so I had no choice but to settle with the CLS... Now that I look at the prices I don't feel so bad... MSRP on it with 6 speed and regular premium package is almost 34K... it's such a nice car and so damn fast (280 hp and 270ftlb tq) and I'm sure those numbers will be accompanied with good dynos curves like the maxima has shown BUT man, for 6K more?!?!? it's a bit pricey is all... of course they do get 18s a better looking body style that's not so long and clunky like ours as well as a more powerful engine... Still I wouldn't be able to afford a car that was 6K more... I don't tihnk it will be negotiable especially b/c the car is in it's first year of production...
Does anyone know how much these are going for market value? Just wondering in case I decide to trade my CLS in in about a year when I get into med school...

I just got the new R&T today, and they tested the G35 coupe 6 spd. First official #s are: 0-60 6.1s; 14.6 @ 98.6.
They said the best runs were done with 4000 rpm clutch drops, so they weren't babying the car.
That's not as fast as I expected. Those #s seem right about the same as those that some people got with their 6 speed. So that's one more thing going for the CL.

I guess... but don't you think the new g35 looks better styling wise? and those 18s are unavoidably nice... that may be the reason some of their times seem slower too... when Sport Compact had their 350Z they put smaller wheels on it and ran it great...

As I said in the previous thread, I actually had a deposit down on the G35c...
And now hearing about it's weight, HP #'s (I was hoping for more then the 350z since it was bigger and more luxurious), and price, I am glad I stuck with the CLS.
I think you decision on the CLS was wise. Great car, great quality (1st year cars can sometimes be a pain), and fast.... Styling, yeah I think the G35c wins, but it's not THAT much better looking

Yeah I definately like the styling of the G better. But as long as one's not parked right next to my car, I still think my car looks sweet! Another thing about the G is it hardly has any trunk room, just 1 cubic ft. more than the Z. It will hold 2 golf bags, that's it. And the rear seat room sucks too. I don't use my CL for hauling a lot of stuff, but it is nice to have room when you need it. Last Jan. I drove me and 2 friends to NM for a ski trip in my CL. It was packed tight, but there would be no way for me to do that in the G. These are just some of the things I think about when I start wishing I could have a G35.:P
