FYI: Autodimming mirror can leak.

Took my car in for the tranny replacement. When iI got it back I noticed some black oily droplets on the shifter gate. Thought it was becuase of the rain. But when I tried to wipe it off it was sticky and had ate into the plastic. Needless to say the dealership changed out the mirror and am currently waiting for a new shift gate to arrive. My car is out of warranty for 4 months already. Service guy says that apparently it happens. That's $200 for a new mirror.

Yes, it's been known to happen. It's rare though.

it wouldn't suprize me that the grand prix has the same mirror. The mirror in my non navi 6sp was great....the onstar in the navi mirror looks and sounds like some typical GM crap....it sqeakes and rattles really bad....im thinking of getting rid of the mirror and replacing it with a ACURA mirror or have the dealer replace it.....its soo annoying

Ask them for a goodwill repair. They might do that if you used the dealer regularly for service since you're just out of the warranty period.

my coworker has TL and she replaced the mirror too. it basically got to the point where it looked like there was water in the mirror.

i'm trying to figure out if mine is really working or not. at night, i can't really tell since my rear windows are tinted. is there any other way to check? i suppose i could use a flash light.

my story is almost identical to buddha's............ also 3months out of warranty and Acura was kind enough to replace everything.

Watch out guys, if your interior mirror stops functioning (the little yellow light will still work, but the auto dimm function won't) ................... start watching it carefully. Like previous posts said, you will start noticing a water mark in the mirror - looks like liquid is getting lower.

The actual LED oil is pain in the ass to clean and stains everything! Don't wait til the liquid to drain out!

I keep my dimmer off. Don't need it with 15% tint. I've used it maybe a handfull of times.

Mine looked like that, now it's all drained out but it hasn't leaked out yet.

The dealer said I'm SOL because I'm past the warranty, even though they did the oil jet recall and the tranny died less than a minute of driving.

Good will my ass.

I drove a car with tinted windows and the auto dimming mirror, and you can definetly tell when the mirror dimming.
