brag abou stomping that altezza? Funny, my roomate has an Is300 2002 5spd IBP, and has L-tuned kit with Altezza Grill badging. Thing is I have an Cl-s 2001. We race all the time, I kick his ass but he has 8 or 9 turbo or supercharger options and an option to switch out to 6 spd Supra engine.

Funny...one day he will kick my ass and his shit looks tight.

 

Dissagre, and Car and Drive said "IS300 looks too much like a corolla". Not the new Corolla but the one that was out when the IS300 made its debut.

agree with that, i was planning on getting an IS300 before i got the CL, but my dad said it looked like a the last gen Corolla.

 

The IS looks less like a Corolla than your CL's look like an Accord. This ain't a flame but the truth-and you boys brought it up.

Go home and grow up....anybody can mod anything...and for the most part people dont swap motors on their $30k+ cars...you do that to your used $3k beater civic hb and then turbo it....

Now, I'm still waiting for that IS300 Supra TT swap to show up and beat my car to hell, but until then...I own them...

IS300 meet in Miami produced a swapped out engine with a 6spd supra with stage 2 turbo....nearly leaped off the dyno machine when it kicked gears...i think it was about 400 to the wheels! As far as my boyz IS300, he many body kits to choose from and decided on the L-tuned with exhaust and he actually just won Headers from toyomoto in Miami this weekend which would bring him close to 200 hp to the wheels. The stock cl-s will bring what ??? 195? Who is kicking whos ass NOW?

 

Big deal. How many turbo IS 300's do you actually run into on the street? Not many.... chances are if you run one it won't be turboed and it will be an easy kill. As far as 200 hp to the wheels...a stock CL-S will do that. If a CL-S gets headers it will dyno at 225-230hp. So your friend gets some headers just so he can keep up with a STOCK CL-S. Looks to me the CL-S is the only one doing any ass kicking.

 

I always thought that quote was kinda silly. Considering the rave reviews the IS has gotten and hardly any reviews on the CL-S, the car is beating the IS all the way into discontinuation.

 

once he does a Supra TT motor swap he will practically own the road cause you'll either need a ricer with a big shot of NOS(like a 75 shot) or big V-8(something like a Mustang Cobra with some mods or Cobra R or a Vette Z-06) to toast him.then he'll need a badge sticker says IS300 twin turbo

 

One IS300 was dyno in Miami at 195 HP to wheels STOCK. LUcky engine, not typical but some run high I suppose. They can get from 4 selections of turbos and trust me they are doing it...plus their parts are JDM and/or cheap...dont get me wrong I love MY CL-s, I just wish we had the options the IS300 has...without paying twice as much too.

Dude, the CL is a nice car and I almost bought one but it is bland (styling) at best. Make fun of the taillights on the IS all you want but most people will tell you they prefer its styling over the more conservative CL-that's just the truth.

 

The CL has a more refined look, although, the TL sometimes makes me wish I could have waited whereas the IS looks like a boy racer like the WRX, which is fine....but don't expect anything out of it short of $6k invested.....
