full exhaust setup - jet-hot and surprises w/ pictures
not much to say, i'll begin start to finish i suppose.
used CT headers from jet-hot (i have closeups if anyones interested):

i forgot, i have a hi-flow cat and y-pipe coming tomorrow, i'll post up those pictures when i get them, not much to look at. i'm not going with a resonator for the following reason.
now here is where i get some frowns, yea, i went borla. fyi - 19x4.5x9, their big. but i hated the big 'CAN' style of the ever popular magnaflows seen on the this forum. i don't like seeing big cans, i just want you to see tip and that's it. ;] enjoy, i'm sure there will be haters.

^not a big gay can.
now, the tips, i wanted closer to stock, but after looking at these for the past 30 minutes, i'm liking them more and more.

looking good but ,personally i wouldnt call the magnaflows "big can lookin'" the HKS and the GReddys sure...n e way please have the tips welded on and BTW they look great im thinking the best ive seen depending on diameter ,but the shape i think is perfect...who made the Hi-Flow cat?

i understand, but seeing pictures of the magnaflows from the distance, the muffler overwhelms the rear of the car, i dont like how it sticks out underneath. and magnaflows options for 4x9 didnt fit my needs. otherwise they were my 2nd choice.
car-sound makes the cat. magnaflow the y-pipe.
i'm taking a dive to see how the borlas will sound. but i heard numerous g35s/350zs and it sounded great. before my motor work, my car sounded similiar to a g35 w/ stock mufflers.

just in case you didn't think i was crazy yet, i got bored...
comptech collectors (w/ jethot) - 3.6 lb per collector = 7.2 lbs
comptech downpipe (w/ jethot) - 8.8 lbs
car-sound cat - 3.6 lbs
magnaflow y-pipe - 2 lbs
borla mufflers - 9.4 lb per muffler = 18.8 lbs
borla tips - 1.6 lb per tip = 3.2
stock manifolds/downpipe are in the shed, i'll weigh them in sometime soon. imo everything is extremely light. i had contemplated going with a titanium setup for weight savings but theres no need, absolutely pointless.

ct headers: $600
mufflers & tips: $500
cat&y: $120
jethot: $250
parts: about $1470
labor is hard to tell, they need to attach the cat, weld a straight pipe back to the y-pipe, 2 mandrel bends to mufflers, and mount everything.
all in all, a FULL system from headers back replacing everything for under $2,000
not bad considering headers brand new will you over 1,050, and the CT catback add another 975, your at 2,025 already w/o install, jet-hot, or hi-flow cat.
edit: my prices listed in the beginning included 2 day shipping charges, if i went with magnaflows originally it would have been $100-200 less in parts, but i went with borlas which are aircraft grade materials, lol.

Interesting setup, looks nice. I'm not sure about the cat though, I installed the Random Tech cat and car seemed to be slightly weaker. Took it to the dyno and lost about 15lbs of torque, gained just a few hp so I took it off.

The dyno doesn't lie and I do before and after dyno's with every mod I buy. If you felt gains that's great, I'm not sure track times are going to tell you anything concrete as condidtions with vehicle, temp and humidity vary things too much.
The backpressure in our car is also part of the torque dilemma with aftermarket cats.

Those same conditions exist on a dyno. Do you perform your before/after dyno runs on the same day you install the modification?
Do you ensure the atmospheric temperature, humidity, and dew point are identical on both runs? Do you ensure that the coolant temperature is identical?
What about the sheer nature of the dynamometer? Back-to-back runs can produce a 10% difference in results on some machines.
Bottom line, a dyno is just an estimate and the dyno does "lie".

i would believe a track time over a dyno, if i run a 13.0 flat in the 1/4 how would you argue that?
my latest dyno pulled 224 whp and 192 tq... yet i had no problem keeping up with modded mustang GTs. you get good pulls and you get bad pulls. what it comes down to is the track times and races. you cant deny those unless there is something wrong with the car or the driver.

I do the dyno the same day I do the install so, conditions are consistant for the most part and as far as the Dynojet being off up to 10%, I disagree.
By that logic my car might dyno 250 one run and 275 the next, I have never seen that and I've been around hundreds of runs on the dyno with various vehicles.
I've had a few other friends install high flow cats on Accords and CL's with a negative effect from a power standpoint, so I thought I'd offer the experience.
Someone telling me a mod was successful because they felt it or the car seemed faster on the track is ridiculous in my opinion but to each his own.
The dyno doesn't lie as much as you think it does and to me would offer the best evidence for hp gains that I can think of, although I do admit it's not perfect.

I'm not trying to be difficult but 25 runs on the track will produce 25 different times,
many times drastically different.
I've had track times all over the board, even after installing new parts where I expected faster times, didn't always happen that way.
With just an Icebox a few years ago I ran a 14.6 with my 01 auto, after I installed my Comptech headers I didn't beat that time right away, I just ran some good races that day under great conditions.
many times drastically different.

congrats on the nice exhaust pieces ! ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
i'm still debating if i go "no trouble but smaller Accord Borla catback" or universal Borla parts like you did.
and if going universal borla, which parts to choose from the list, and then, complete the setup with which piping (mandrel bent stainless steel is rare and expensive) and have it done where ?
i know being a mechanic i shouldn't have all these questions, but i like the fact that the accord catback is a simple bolt-on, made for this frame (or with very little modifications) instead of going to a junky muffler shop having someone else do it (we don't have any exhaust tool for customized jobs at acura, just simple oem parts that we take off and bolt back on).
i'll see how yours turns out and might finally do it custom
after having heard a V6 accord coupe with the borla catback, i WANT that subtle deep low tone
