Glad you're OK.

All the insurance stuff will vary by company.

With a good shop, your car will be better than new.

Sorry to hear man...been there, I know what you're going through. Glad you're OK. As for aftermarket parts....I would say they most likely won't be covered.

It sucks wrecking any car, and I hope things will be ok with your car dude.

dude, dont sweat it, these guys are over sensitive morons and yeah, you made a good point. you want to cry about losing a car? imagine being the owner of that lambo murcielago that burned up on the side of the road that was posted the other day. fact is, its a CL-S...we arent talking about a rare or special or even high class car, there are tons on used car lots and prices are dropping like rocks.

and darrin, you can DEFINATELY expect a huge hike in insurance, this accident was 100% your fault for being negligent behind the wheel, only thing worse you couldve done from an insurance standpoint is a DUI or running over a person and killing them. considering how young you are and the fact you are a guy, id imagine anywhere from a 500-1000 dollar hike per year for the next 3-5 years depending on your ins. company.

This was my car after $11k in damage. Hit head on with a barrier (which cost as much as the damage to the car to replace) at 60mph. Walked away without a scratch. And the car was still drivable. My car is back to normal now. This is why we pay so much for insurance, just in case something happens.

I also recently got into an accident. i have similar damage to teh car above but to a lesser extent. The aribags DID NOT go off and there was no damage to the frame or anything. I was pissed it cost 10k CDn so like 6K us to get a bumper, headlights hood and radiator. Does that seem like the right price? i was not charged in the incident and was not hurt at al. I hit the other car at around 10mph. the other car (volvo s70) had a scratch. iwas wondering why i had som much damage when i was going soooooooooo slowly. i have some pics but it is after everything has been removed. ie hood bumper etc.

As far as your aftermarket parts are concenred, you could ask your insurance company if they would consider them but don't get your hopes up since you are only paying insurace for a stock veh. you aren't paying insurance premiums on aftermarket parts

Is your car dropped? I had the same type of accident with the same ammount of damge going about 15 and my air bag didn't deploy. Turns the metal beam behind the bumper, where the sensors are located, didn't contact the other car until much of the impact had been absorved by the hood and fenders. No frame damage. go figure.

been sick for the past few days and i have been on some medication, i guess it got me tired, on my way back from work i was dayzing off for a split second on the free way and when the highway split i was suposed to go right but i went down the middle right into a huge sign, both the wooden poles holding the sign made holes in my winshied and the glass got all over the place...
after i hit the sign i go in that ditch then all the sudden my car just swung out like spining, i dont know like it happened too fast my car went two lanes to the right up a hill then down a ditch..

as for me, luckly i left with not one scrath or bruise, i really dont know how,
but my car hot hit pretty hard...
the winshield is broken, driver door seems totally out of place, cai broke, it doesnt seem like any thing bad happened to the engine but will see what happens, i couldnt even pop the hood
i dont think the car is gonna get totaled but prolly around 5-10k in damage
i am gonna have it towed to the best collision in the state, i have heard many good things about this collision

my only fear is insurance going up and the car not running the same as it used too

thanks for your thoughts guys, appreciate it
Man, what a wreck . . amazing you weren't hurt, physically that is. It really sucks when you have bad wreck . . let's hope that there's no frame damage. Now that would really suck.

Good luck . .

there is some frame damage on the roof, the roof has a buldge in it, i didnt even notice it but the guy at the collison did, i say the damage is between 10-12k just from looking at it, gotta wait till monday to hear from the insurance guy when he looks at the car...
even with frame damage there is machines to fix it up, they can get the car back to perfect, i trust this collision....

Shit darrin i was really sorry to hear about this. From what you said the car may look worse then it really is. A good bodyshop will get it looking like new.

Hope you still maintain your passion for this car.

My sincere condolences. Most of us will experience this type of hardship at some point and the best we can do is to grow from it.
