Friends GTP Dyno Numbers
Okay... before I say anything else, I will say this. I am NOT posting this to start a flame war, to compare a GTP to a CL-S and vice versa. I don't care if you hate the GTP, I don't want to hear it. This is solely being posted from one car enthusiast to the other car enthusiasts on this board regarding the work and effort put into a car to make it quick.
For comparison
Stock GTP's are 240hp and 280trq at the crank and roughly 180-190hp and 210-230trq at the wheels.
(My dyno numbers are in my sig)
My friend (from the Chicago ClubGP Chapter) dyno'd on Saturday, his results were:
HP: 324.7@5900
Trq: 392.2@3400
So at the fly, with about a 25% loss that's 405.875 HP and 490.25Trq.
This is all NON-NOS on 93-octane. He usually runs 110 octane at the track. His track time at the end of last season was 12.4x@xxx mph (can't remember the speed). He's thinkered a little since then but not much. THis is all with no weight stripped from the car. (Actually, it's probably about a few pounds heavier than stock with his watercooler resevior/icebox setup in the trunk. )
Oh, and want to add that this is his daily driver, to work, store and long interstate trips. His engine has probably over 70K on it.... along with hundreds of 1/4 runs.... (and I mean hundreds)

Andrew,
Last time I was at the track I met somebody off of the GTP board. He knew who you are. He had a silver GTP, and was running with winter tires. Dont remember his name though.

God damn that is one awesome ride. I'd love to walk mustang gt's in a daily driven 4 door. How much do you think all that cost? It must be sumwhere in the 20k range.

2.60" Pulley on the Super Charger <$100
High Stall Torque Converter @600-800
3.69 Gear Final Drive (see trans below)
Thrasher Race Ready Transmission (rebuild of original @$1500)
C-YA Racing Limited Slip Differential $1000
Thrasher Intercooler with Ice in the Trunk $500
Adjustable Timing PCM $300
Thrasher Cam $300
Twin Trans. Coolers $200
26 x 10.5 x 15 Mickey Thomson E/T STREETS on the Front (?)
PCM Reprogrammed for Shift Points, Gearing, Redline, and Fan Turn-on (see PCM above
180 Deg. Thermostat $20
Thrasher Cold Air Kit $200
High Flow throttle body 150
Thrasher headers with 3" exhaust $1200
Autometer Fuel Pressure and Boost Gage in Center Console $80
Autometer Dual Intake Air Temp, Trans Temp and EGT Gauge on A-Piller $200
AutoTap Laptop Connection to PCM $100
Temperature Probe before and after the Intercooler $50
Thrasher Torque Arms $300
Spring Spacers in Rear Springs $20
Poly Bushings on Front Endlinks $20
Gold Badges and Champaine Crosslace Wheels stock
So around $7000 and that's counting non-performance things like the gauges, the autotap, etc.
Granted installation would cost some too, but he did this all himself. Some of the costs are estimates, but are based on what he said he would sell these for to other people. (like the tranny, LSD, etc, which were all made by him.)

Oh, and regarding the cost, that is the final product cost. OF course it probably is in excess of 20K if you figure the time and money spent perfecting the tranny, differential and torque convertor to work flawlessly and without breaking with that much (and more) power. He's not anywhere near done either yet. Most of his mods will be available to GP owners soon enough. Buying a used 1997 for around 10K and doing those mods for about 10K installed for a 12 second 2 or 4 door streetable 'grocery getter?'
Yes, the CL-S has 12 sec potential, but it will be more expensive (without NOS) due to the techonology and design of the engine. The S/C alone is about 5K right? That's why I miss my GTX.....
Here's a link to his timeslip:

For those that may not be able to link to it:
R/T: .507
60': 1.833
1/8: 8.051@87.83
1/4: 12.548@110.52

are torque arms just stronger controll arms??
Anyway that is quite the good price for that kind of speed. Goes to show you that with enough money anything can go fast, but some cars are cheaper.

It's pretty much like a traction bar but for front wheelers. You can just imagin what the torque stear would be like in a FWD liuke his pushing over 490 torque at the crank and 392 at the wheels! I'm not sure how they work exactly though. So my comment is sort of a semi-educated guess.
And your right about the money and making anything fast.
I just wsh we could have someone like him working on mods for the CL-S....
(also, I couldn't edit the last post so I also want to add that you oculd probably get all that for the 7K if you are mechanically inclined and do the work yourself.)
If anyone in the Chicago area would be interested, I'll let you know when he'll be back at the track next season! We usually hit Byron. (He may go to US41 in Indiana sometime soon though.)
