Friend Wants Some Information on Cars
I have a friend that will be in the market for a new car around four months from now. He's looking to spend less than 35k and is looking at the Subaru STi, the G35 coupe, and the A4. He was pretty set on the STi but he's not digging the image it presents (darn park bench on the trunk) but loves the idea of 300 horses and all wheel drive. If anyone has any specs on the other two (0-60 times or quarter mile times) it would be appreciated. And yes I could probably do a search and find a lot but the search function is fubar. Also a good comparison between the 4 and 6 cylinder versions of the A4 would be great I know the 1.8T responds great to mods and it would be a good deal cheaper for him but I dont know if he could get to the level of power he is looking for. Any opinions and information would be great.

I wasnt impressed with Subaru build quality, G35 on the other hand was far superior. He's talking about luxury car, or really f'ing fast car. STi does 0-60 in like 4.8 I believe, while regular WRX does it n like 5.4 or something close to that. TEll him to go drive those cars then he will be able to make a decision for sure.

Big you hit onmy friends problem perfectly. He wants a car with excellent quality, luxury, and performance. And for under 35k its hard to get all of the above plus he wont buy a used car.

The STi image is fine to me, driving around all I get is compliments and thumbs up gestures.
Nobody points and laughs, people are curious more than anything else. They are not intended to be gorgeous looking cars, its a high performance rally inspired vehicle. I do understand that the spoiler isn't for everyone though....the smaller one can always be put on (doesn't look right to me though).
I do this quote though "It looks like stink, but it goes like stink."

i would take luxury over sports because i drive too much, but everybody is different. i wouldn't listen to any other people when i'm about to spend $35k. so go test drive.

The EVO is right out...he doesnt like the appearance at all, and he is planning on test driving them all, but as people have pointed out the the STi is in a totally seperate category. He's trying to get a feel for the potential of each car modding included and his test drives may not be worth much cause he is gonna buy a stick and the bum hasnt taken the time to really learn how to drive stick. So basically he wont be able to really push any of the cars during the test drive.
