i would say you need the 2k paper. you might be able to get by with 1000 grit and plastic X with a porter cable orbital. but all by hand i would say the 2000 is needed. the slightest bit of haze is going to look like crap.

i'll check autozone this weekend, thanks. i've already looked in kragen and home depot with no luck. and i didn't get the 1000 grit at one of those places. found the 1000 grit at some mom and pop hardware store.....but no 2000 grit. let's hope i'll have better luck at autozone.

Bought some 600, 800, and 2000 grit from Pep Boys today, along with a sand bar. Then got a 2600 RPM 6inch buffer from autozone for $20 and i already have the PlastX. I am ready to go!!
