Ford GTO would be go into production!

http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caran...0_dai_gt40.xml

Ford says it will produce the GT40, which was a hit concept car at the recent North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The car is nearly identical to the Ford sports/racing car which won the Le Mans 24 Hour race in the sixties.
The announcement was made to Ford employees at the company's world headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan by Ford Chairman and CEO Bill Ford. "Our revitalization plan is centered on products," said Ford. "The company that builds and delivers the best cars and trucks wins, and we're going to win. I can't think of a better symbol of that winning attitude than GT40."

Want to see more of the Ford GT40 concept? Check out our preview and our photo gallery from this year's NAIAS.
The new GT40 is more than 18 inches longer and nearly four inches taller than the original and, Ford said in a press release, joins Thunderbird, Mustang and the Forty-Nine concept as part of Ford's "Living Legends" lineup.

Production capacity, vehicle specifications, performance numbers, pricing and the final name of the production vehicle will be revealed at a later date, Ford said.
Ford used the same occasion to announce a new advertising campaign, entitled "No Boundaries." The campaign's commercials will be narrated by Bill Ford, the great-grandson of the company's founder, and will stress the company's history.

"Ford products have been playing a role in consumers' lives for nearly 100 years, connecting with them in very emotional ways," said Jim O'Connor, Ford Division president. "The No Boundaries campaign celebrates the people and products of Ford — great people building great automotive products. That's what Ford is all about."

GT-40

............it's still the most beautiful car I can think of other than Aston Martin's Vanquish at over 200K. I want one!! Great design is like great music-- never gets old and holds up well over time.

move over viper!!!

This car (I dont like Ford b.t.w) just rocks though!

GT40 is an awesome supercar! I'm excited to see one on the road. I'll be extremely jealous.

Before knocking this car, for those ignorant Ford haters. Go read about it. It's crazy.

I'm glad we have more american supercars comming out

Show those Europeans whats up...

This is now my favorite Supercar, only because its not outrageously priced for the performance it gives.

I wonder why they didnt call it the GT43? since the GT40 was called that because it was 40" high.

anyway...

cheers Ford!
