following reccommended Services from dealership???
Hey guys...
I've been just following the Recommended Services from the dealership...such as:
7,500 service
15,000 service
22,500 service (basically 7,500)
30,000 service
getting ready to do a 37,500 service (basically 7,500)
Yes, I realize that this is surely more expensive than I need to, buuuuuuuut...as long as I go by a dealerships' recommendations (since they always cover as much as they can inorder for you to pay more money) ..I should good???
I just really want to take care of it and make sure all bases are absolutely covered. I mean, do you guys think I would still miss something, even going by their sheets?
Thanks again

It depends on your driving. READ THE MANUAL!

BTW: when I got the oil changed at 7500, the dealer put a sticker on the windsheild that said it's due again at 10,250. The dealerships will "recommend" that you change your oil under the "severe" schedule, 'cause it puts more money in their pockets.
When I was getting Mobil 1 synth oil put in my old tbird, the place that did it "recommended" that I change it every 3000 miles. Only 3000 miles for synth ??, I don't think so. I usually ran about 9K to 10K on synth oil changes on my tbird, and the oil always looked good. I've got 135,000 miles on the tbird now.
Modern oil are alot better then in the "old days" so that's why most car manufacturers have longer oil change periods (like 7500 miles) for regular dyno oil.
I still have to decide if I'm going to switch to Mobil 1 on the CLS (probably for the 15,000 mile oil change).

My dealership asked me several questions to determine my driving style then decided I should change my oil every 7500 miles. I am getting it done about ever 4000 though, the little bit of money you save is not worth pushing the oil to its limits.

Come on now...oil changes are no brainers....I'm talking about ALLLLL the other stuff they recommend you do.
I do my oil changes every 7,500 with Mobil1 syn. The dealer when I had them put it in, put a sticker on my windshield showing my next due change was +7500.

Never did any of those recommended services.
Its a waste of $$$. All you really need is fluids changed at the right times, oil changes every 3700 miles. Tires rotated, maybe ONE if that, parking brake adjustment.
AND, if my car were to have problems without having to do what they tell me to (vast knowledge of automobiles), its under warranty.
I take care of it though on my own. The dealership wanted $170 to change my a/c filter!
