Fogged headlamp- need your input
Last week I noticed out of nowhere that my passenger side headlamp was fogged up. This didnt happen on a rainy day, it became fogged after leaving my car in the garage overnight. The lense will dry up in the sun, but immediatly fog up if I wash the car.
Today I brought my car to my mechanic...he told me he is unsure to the root of the problem. He said his Range Rover sometimes has the same problem but dries up on its own. He installed 6000K bulbs but said it is sealed when he inspected it today. He also told me that there is not enough water to blow a bulb.
Right now the car is running with the lights on and it is drying up the moisture. Yesterday I opened the hood, removed the high beam bulb and over an hour or so it dried up. But then I went to run some errands during nice weather and it fogged again.
I know my options....Ive never done body work on a car, dont even know where to start to take off the front bumper...and im a daily driver so I dont want to start messing around now. And I dont want to pay acura $300 for a new one that potentially might fog again.
so I have a few questions....
1. Could possibly my 6000K bulbs that burn hotter than stock be a cause to this fogging?
2. Im hoping it is doing this because of the weather....NY weather now gets hot during the day and cold at night, so could this be a temporary problem as if my car has ALLERGIES? Once the nights are warmer maybe this wont happen?
sorry for the rambling....

My drivers side fogs up just a little bit in the lower left corner by the grill. When it rains or I wash the car. It really doesn't bother me. EVERY car I had has done this to some degree.
My car unfortunetly is not under warranty.
My drivers side fogs up just a little bit in the lower left corner by the grill too. It doesnt happen all the time but I noticed it after I bought my car. It really doesn't bother me either. But the problem with my passenger side gets BAD...it can cover everything from the turning signals to the front grill.
Right now my car has been sitting in the sun for hours and alot of the moisture is gone.

I wouldn't do that.
Just pull the highbeam out and give it about 24hrs (or less) and it will dry out. Driving it around will help too. Or you can try my "makeshift anti-fog headlight tool"
If you want to pull the whole thing out, go to Comptech's website and find the instructions for installing the Icebox. It tells you how to remove the front bumper. The only thing though, mine had a few more bolts in it than the instructions stated.
Good luck!

Ive tried your makeshift anti-fog headlight tool this past weekend! great idea! it soaked up all the moisture but then later that evening when i put the car back in the garage...it all came back!
For the time being im going to keep it and hope that it dries up by itself. If its still there in a few weeks (which i bet it will be) i just might have to buy a new one.

HAS ANYONE IN THE NEW YORK TRI STATE AREA DID THIS THEMSELVES AND SUCCESSFULL SEALED IT BACK TOGETHER WHO IS WILLING TO FIX MINE FOR $$$??
take the whole unit out and put silicon around it where the the casings seperate. i used black silison II from lowes. take paper cloth and spread out the silicon in the crevice so it seals everything properly. u would understand what i am talking about if u take the time to take the unit out.
