Fog light question between the TL and CL

Why do the TL's have 51watt bulbs and the CL have 5 Watts? What is holding me bcak from installing a brighter bulb? Would the housing be able to handle the heat?

Dont think so.

My GMC truck had an 18 Watt bulb that I replaced with a 32 Watt. Belted not the housing, but the actual rear where the bulb is turned into.

I think we will have to stick with our PIAA or Polarg bulbs if you want a stock clean look.

CL = Running lights
TL = Fog lights

The lights on the CL are just for apperance they don't actually serve a purpose. Where the TL are actually funtional

Bulbs much above 15watts will melt the housing .. there are many posts on this .. this is why I don't bother buying the housing for my '03 .. the lights are just for show ..

Thanks guys. I guess 18watts is it for now. I do like the look even if it is not functional. I still prefer something that fits the stock housings. The compliment the cars lines much more than bolting aftermarket to it. IMO

^ I agree. Although they serve no purpose, I rather keep the OEM ones on rather than throw aftermarket ones on. OEM looks cleaner.
