flywheel??

Do the comptech Clutch and flywheel come as a combo when purchased or can you just get the flywheel. My clutch is really slipping, so it is time to replace it but from what i read the comptech clutch is no good. I was wondering if i could just get the flywheel and if so how much would it be???? Thanks guys

Really... your clutch is slipping already? How many miles on it? You could probably call Comptech to see if you can only order the flywheel. But their 'kit' is only the flywheel and a clutch disc:

So most of that cost is the flywheel anyway. I'm sure you can fit any clutch disc you want in there. The pressure plate is another thing... I want to find a stronger one for my car. But in your case you could just replace the clutch disc if it's worn out.

thanks for the info blue... I'm at 54000 miles and it's slipping but it's still ok sometimes. If i don't watch my timing so as to not to burn any clutch, then it slips so i know it's bad. The comptech combo costs a lot though. OEM clutch i guess. Isn't there a way to have the flywheel machined to be lighter. Where in southern Cali are you located???

You can't machine the stock flywheel, or resurface it.

The CT clutch and flywheel are a matched set. I don't think that you can combine the OEM clutch / friction plate with the CT flywheel.

I have not heard of anyone who liked the CT clutch... I replaced with OEM parts, which I think are the best. There are some with high HP applications that still swear by the stock clutch.

Dual mass flywheel... not possible to machine. My dealer told me that there were no options other than replacement, and that is what I have heard from others on this forum as well.
