First WOT

Well, my 2003 CL-S is no longer a "virgin" tonight as I've finally pushed her in a couple of wide open throttle runs! It's the 5-speed auto sport-shift, but still, damn, I'm impressed! This thing is friggin' fast!! The car has just over 1200 miles (babied it to this point) and is stock other than a K&N filter. (Yeah, I know, probably doesn't do crap, but does make the air intake a little louder) In any case....

This a GREAT car, luxurious AND sporty at the same time. Glad I got mine before the 2003 inventory was depleted. Long live the CL.

Anyway, I won't be modding this car (I'm 38 and have become somewhat practical.. YIKES!) but WILL be getting some better tires. The stock ones way under-perform this car. Makes the car feel like a Buick! I will probably get the Michelin Pilot A/S in a plus 1 size 225/50/17 on the stock CL-S rims. The stock rims are more than good enough (17x7) and adding the new A/S tires should give me the edge I'm looking for, which is all season high performance as the CL-S will eventually see snow next winter

Anyway, woohoo to the Acura CL-S! Damn good car for the price. Got mine for 28K and change. In my opinion there isn't much (if nothing) out there that can give such a luxury/performance bang for the buck for under 30K. Sure, go get a Subaru WRX ( a.k.a. fast) but where's the luxury! Not to mention looks?

Did I say I love my Aegean Blue '03 CL-S?!

I said that too (and I'm about the same age and thought I had other hobbies/priorities). Your mind may change. I fully recommend going with the basic Comptech upgrades and tire upgrades. You won't be sorry.

Congrats on WOT'ing it! I love my car too.

you'll enjoy that WOT a lot more when you hear the sound an AEM intake makes.

It's so nice working on a brand new car! No rusty bolts, no dirt falling in your face.

Like a daily vitamin, make sure you give your CL a WOT and VTECH pulse at least once a day!! I see this female (disclosure: not picking on females here) in a CL-S every day on my way to work doing like 60 mph. As I pass her doing 75/80 mph I look and no look back. I ask myself "I wonder if she ever gets on that thing"? You've gotta ask why have a car like this and not use it the way the engineers designed it to be used!!

Happy 4th! Damn it's hot (sitting on deck sipping a cold one) Waiting for the Sox/Yankee's battle later this afternoon.

Yeah I'm 55 and practical also... The car handles much better than expected (HLSD) but im thinking about those sways also.....

I find myself trying to bait younger kids.... I will never race, but i give them looks at stop lights... A few have burned rubber on me. Carols laughs quite a bit at this.

Hey its great to be 55

Going on WOT in this car is a beautiful thing. Even the stock sound alone makes ya want to always stay in vtec.

From: Miami - just one day, I would like to drive without getting cut off!
So what is the break-in period for a CLS 6? I have a TLS but I'm considering trading in for a CLS 6 speed.

waiting till 1200 miles??? can someone say "baby"??? i was WOT my CL-S with 200 miles on it, and it ended up being to this day one of the quickest CL-S with the least mods (14.3@99 with nothing but headers and intake resonator removed)

ill never understand how anal some people are about break in. its just a car, at this point in the evolution of automotive technology, 1200 mile break ins are a joke, even 600 is pushing it.
