first race with the S/C

It was some young guy weaving in and out of traffic in a yellow Rx-8. He had a body kit some wheels and a exhaust system. Didnt know what else he had. couldnt tell what kind wheels. Anyway, he sees my car and of course he looks and looks and looks again. until He reved and took off. Right after he guns it I put it into 2nd. (We were going about 40) I floor it and with in a few seconds I was passing him with ease. When I hit V-tech i was loosing him quickly. Third gear was the same, just left him in the dust. I went to about 100 in 3rd then shut it down. This was a great feeling! when It was all done Id say I was ahead by about 5-6 cars. at the next light he turned right and I kept on going forward. He didnt know what hit em! Just wanted to share. even with him having a head start I still won. This S/C is impressive. I also have the HBP-

i had a run with an rsx-s pretty new, stick too. some old dude was really pushing the car, i found it kind of odd but decided to mess with him a little bit. light turned green, i pushed to about 5k rpm, and he was keeping up so i knew he was flooring it. just gunned it in 2nd and demolished him. turned right and didnt even look.
did a similar job twice to 2 g35's, and they just turned off as well. ever since i got the sc, alot of people get pissed after they lose. they just dont expect our cars to keep up. your gonna have to get used to it!

I'm not sure how fast the 6MT RX8s are, but by looking at some of the CL-S times, when taken to the limit, I'm pretty sure they can take the RX8s.

Nice run. Gotta love that S/C w/ HBP! As far as the comment on losing intake/VTEC growl, while you do indeed lose it you quickly start loving the blower whine. Blower whine > intake growl

It's close but I'd say the CL is a little quicker off the line. That said, the handling of the 8 is simply spectacular... RWD, 50-50, engine behind the front axle and gas tank in front of the rear axle.

Those are the best times you'll find for an RX-8 manual. Most are 0-60 in 6.5 sec or slower. I saw a recent article vs. the new mustang v8, and the 350Z aniversary where the RX-8 ran a 15.4. That seems a bit too slow, however. My guess is that its a high 14-low 15 sec car with the 6-speed.
