finally went to the track..Good numbers for stock

Well I did it finally..god i missed going..me and some friends with type R's are going to go every week now.

Here are the times * i ran 8 times *

1st run 2nd run Best Run

Reaction time 1.245 1.195 .501

60ft 2.475 2.254 2.296

330ft 6.501 6.167 6.173

1/8th 9.728 @77.99 9.412@77.74 9.350@79.34

1/4th 14.804@95.50 14.501@95.53 14.350@96.77

Hope those runs were good for only having the HKS mufflers.. My mechanic at acura who has a 5spd Legend went with me. He said that if i got those 60fts down it would be 14.0-14.2. Its funny because my S2000 ran 13.8 stock. I think i got another "wednesday" motor in this car too. He * the machanic* thinks so as well. My friends type R was out there with Skunk2 cams headers exhaust ECU. The best run in his car was 14.371@ 98mph. Ok guys let me here your opinions. Oh i launched at 2K wheelspin slightly and the temp outside was 65 degrees at 10pm..gotta love the south. lata bros / girls.

VERY nice seems your ECU was remaping itself. As your 60ft time is lower in your second run and theoretically you should've run a faster time. If you take a look at the time you made up between 330ft and 1/8, that's where the big difference is between your other runs.

very nice time! especially for a stock CL. You'll easily be in the 13s in no time with a few mods.

14.3 is great for just exhaust, headers and you'll be well into the 13's

The saying goes if you are buying Union then anything built on mondays and fridays is crap because they are recovering form the weekend or getting ready to go home and so work quality suffers. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are optimal with Wendesday being the best. That's what they say......

Wow. Very impressive for a stock 6spd

Did you run stock tire pressure, or did you defate the front's and inflate the rears ??

Sounds like a freak motor. It would be interesting to see what it dynos at.

It's posts like these that make me want to get my car on a dyno and to the track. 7100 miles on it, I think she's broken in

So what kind of times have people seen or would you expect if running a '03 CLS 6 speed with CT intake/headers/exhaust/SC?

You should be able to hit 14.5 stock. That'd be the perfect run with perfect track and weather. He isn't too much off the mark.

So come to NED one of these Wednesdays or Fridays...I think I'm going again next Wednesday.

Import Wars is sure to be cancelled tomorrow, though, with the weather an' all.

BTW...nice times!!

We went racing at Coastal Plains in the military town of Jacksonville, NC. Tire pressure was 22psi in front 32 in back. I talk to a friend of mine that has a built type R. He said if i can get my 60fts down to a 2.2..13's are very possible with what i have. Im going back to the track this thursday. If there ar any other CL's TL's in the area...id like to meet up with them..there are practially none in Wilmington. As far as the S2000. I had an S2000 i was saying that 13.9 was my best in my old car..when it was stock..got it down to 13.6 after the toda flywheel...apexi exhaust..springs..clutch..AEM intake...funny cause the vortech S2000 only runs 13.7. Who knows I just wanted to get everyones feedback to see what they thought..if these were exemplary times. The honda techs thought so. And im beginning to think so too. Thanks for all the good feed back.

Desmond,
2.1 or even 2.0 60ft times are attainable for your car. high 13's if you can get it to stick. invest in some rota slipstreams for the front's paired with nitto 555r's, lose the extra weight (i.e. spare/jack/etc) and take your time getting the launch right. your r/t does not affect your 1/4mile time.

oh yeah.. i got a 2.2 60ft time out of my 4cyl 5spd first gen, so i know the 6spd's are very capable of getting much lower

I am going to try some different launching methods this time around.. It's very hard to slip this clutch to me. Does anyone else agree? I was launching at 2000k and was still getting some wheel spin/chirping till i shifted to second gear. I think im going to try to launch some where between 1500K-1800 rpm. If have any suggestions..im always open. Very openminded person. Willing to try anything here..lol..within reason that is. Ok..talk to you all soon.

matt..here are all the times yuou asked for..i had about 5 to 10 minutes per run..then the last two were pretty much back to back because everyone was leaving..

1st run 14.80@95.50 2.475 60ft
2nd 14.5@ 94 2.258 60ft
3rd 14.407@95.97 2.245 60ft
4th 14.464@96.12 2.307 60ft
5th 14.355@96.56 2.49 60ft
6th 14.350@96.77 2.296 60ft

If i could get my 60 fts down to 2.20 2.1 that would be awesome..but this is the first time ive run this car. so with practice..ill get it..you can see that i improved alot from the 1st run.

What 0-60 and 1/4 mile times would you expect for a car with the following setup?

* '03 CLS 6sp
* CT headers/exhaust/SC (intake include with SC)
* CT springs/sways (not that this would matter much)
* Stock 17 in. wheels with Pilot Sport A/S 225/50ZR17s.

thanks dude, this falls in line w/ what i thought. the cl-s gets quicker with more runs, as long as their isn't too much time between runs. the night i ran 14.1's i started out at 14.5's then to 4's, 3's and so on. my 10th run produced a 14.16, and the 11th run was a 14.17

when i went the other night my first run was a 14.38@99.26, by far my quickest first run ever. but i had to wait a whole f'n hour to run again. i never did run any quicker, and i only got 4 runs total. i was pissed :swear2:

bottom line, we could really use an ECU upgrade

yea i noticed that too matt g,

when i went 14.2 my first run was 14.5 or 14.6 i think, then i kept on goin, there was like only 3-4 min between my runs, in my 9th run i went 14.2.

if u went 14.3 on your first run that is amazing, u def would of went 13.9 that day. just go one day right when the track opens and its under 60 deg and you'll be the first n/a bolt on auto to hit 13's in the world!!!

oops...
cls6spd03 is awful similar to cls6sp03. But you registered before me. So I guess I kinda partially ripped off your username. Had no idea when I registered. Good name though.
